October is Bully Prevention Month! Our counselors and teachers have been teaching about bully prevention and how to make schools a safe place for learning. Wednesday is National Unity Day. We encourage all students and staff to wear orange to show support and bring awareness around bully prevention efforts across our country in schools.

A reminder that all Morning Program students should be dropped off at Door 15 in the parking lot door between 7:30am-8:00am (this is the same door we do afterschool pick-up). Please do NOT drop them off BEFORE 7:30am as there will be no one to supervise them. Please contact Ms. Baolue Vang with any questions at ‪(612) 305-8310‬. NO Morning Program on Fridays.

PTO is doing a Spooky Fun Run Fundraiser for Txuj Ci Lower again! Our PE teacher, Mr. Hackett has been training them to get them ready to run 1 mile or more on our field! We've seen them running laps outside, working hard to build up their endurance. Students can ask family and friends to pledge any amount for them to run their mile. We will have two weeks to collect pledges. All the students will run or walk regardless of amount collected. PTO will provide water and a snack for all students. The class with the highest amount raised in grades preK, Kgn, 1 will get a pizza party. The class with the highest amount raised in grades 2, 3, 4 will also win a pizza party, courtesy of PTO. PTO raises money to give back to our classrooms and students through fieldtrip funds, recess equipment, additional projects, and staff appreciation meals. Thank you for sending home the fliers and getting our students excited about it. Last year, we raised $8800. Let's see if we can match that or beat it this year! Go dragons! See the student pledge letter and Flier here! Students will bring a paper pledge letter home on Monday, Oct. 14th. All pledges are due on the day of the run, Oct. 24th. We will send out the schedule next week so parents can come and cheer on their student!
