Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- Ridgeline High School has demonstrated significant strides with regard to the “G” for Growth in our mission. I’m not talking about the student enrollment capacity, rather, the “capacity” of our students, staff, and community to build sustainable programs, a positive culture, and an identity that has gained attention around our league and state. Hard work and commitment are the foundation for the success our students have earned in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities. An example is our Junior Statesmen of America, pictured here, who hosted a forum for candidates running for Liberty Lake City Council. The school’s connection with our community is exciting to see evolve. If you have ideas about how you personally or an organization or company you work with could help enhance our students’ experience, I’d love to hear from you. What I mean is, any way we can help our young people connect their education to the world they will be working in, we welcome those opportunities!
We celebrated (and survived) a fantastic homecoming week! Special thanks to Mr. Conrad and the Leadership students, Mrs. Nielsen and the senior class, and the RHS Boosters for supporting the homecoming dance!
Come out tonight for the final scheduled home football game of the season! We’ll celebrate our seniors from football, cheer, and the dance team. Falcon football has secured a playoff game on Nov. 3, time and location TBD. You can watch a live broadcast on our YouTube channel again tonight as well. Our guys on the broadcast-- John Kimberly, Cody Arrieta, and Dominic Smith, are really good! We’re grateful to have the leadership and talent of their teacher, Mr. Kevin Egeland, making this possible.
We got our first GSL team championship this week as girls soccer won a thriller at prep! We’re very proud of them and wish continued success into playoffs. Another championship team is our Ridgeline Regiment! This combined group of band, colorguard, and drumline have swept awards at their past two competitions and look forward to tomorrow in Yakima to showcase their talents once again. These kids have worked extremely hard, as have their coaches, as have the band boosters (mostly their parents)! Their show, More to Me, is an amazing spectacle. What happens behind the scenes is also very impressive. Good luck Regiment!
Veteran’s Day is just around the corner and we will have an assembly on November 09, 9:45am. Community is welcome to attend. We encourage students to bring family, friends, neighbors who have served or are still serving. More details below.
All right, that’s good for now, please skim through the Flyer to learn about other cool events and opportunities coming up at Ridgeline. Be in-the-know, read the Flyer.
Make it a great weekend! –Mr. Hardt
Subject: Closed Campus Policy & Student Check-Out During Lunch
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well. We want to take a moment to address our school's closed campus policy and the importance of limiting student check-outs during lunch times.
At CVSD, we have a longstanding board policy that maintains a closed campus during lunchtime. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. Keeping our campus closed during lunch helps us monitor and manage the flow of students, maintain a secure environment, and minimize disruptions during the school day.
We understand that there may be occasions when you need to check your child out of school during lunch periods. In such cases, we are more than willing to accommodate these special circumstances. If your child has an appointment or a legitimate reason to leave campus during lunch, we ask that you call in advance to complete the checkout process for students. This will help expedite the process of your student checking out during lunch time which is also a very busy time for our office staff.
While we strive to accommodate your needs, we kindly request that parents refrain from checking students out during their lunchtime without a legitimate reason. This helps us maintain a secure and orderly campus environment.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in upholding our closed campus policy. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy or need to discuss specific circumstances, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school administration.
Thank you for your continued support in creating a safe and productive learning environment for all our students.
Sincerely,
Ridgeline High School Administration

Spokane National College Fair 2023!
Each year, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) sponsors a series of major college fairs across the country. These college fairs provide students access to a wide variety of colleges and universities from across the country and the world. We are fortunate to have the Spokane National College Fair here in Spokane on Tuesday, October 24. Ms. Fuller and Mr. Spraggins will take a small group of pre-registered juniors to the morning session. If you and your student wish to attend, there is an evening session available (6:00 - 8:00); the event will be held at the Spokane Convention Center. Student attendees are strongly encouraged to complete the registration process and obtain a bar code; having one will make the fair experience far more efficient in terms of connecting with colleges and universities. Please direct any questions you may have to Mr. Spraggins (bspraggins@cvsd.org).
Regent Scholarship award recipients
Each year, Washington State University offers each Washington high school the opportunity to nominate two high-achieving seniors for the Regent Scholarship award. WSU will provide each nominee a $4000/year scholarship award, and the nominees will subsequently compete for the institution’s prestigious Distinguished Regent Scholar Award--a full tuition, four-year scholarship to attend WSU. Please join us in congratulating Ridgeline High School’s 2023-24 Regent Scholarship nominees, Caitlynn Davis and Kaden Jones!

Ridgeline Regiment
Our school’s marching band, the Ridgeline Regiment has had an unprecedented run this month of competition. Not just unprecedented for a young school, but for the state of Washington. The band has won 24 trophies, 1st place for every round of competition. It started with a clean sweep of Best Music, Best Visual, Best Effect, Best Percussion, and Best Colorguard along with the AAAA Championship and the Overall Sweepstakes trophy at both rounds of the 41st Annual Cavalcade of Bands in Kennewick, WA. Then last weekend, at the Pacific NW Marching Band Championships in Mead, WA the Ridgeline Regiment did it again, sweeping all categories in every round. They have competed against over 50 bands and have come out on top, every time in every category. The band is spending this weekend in Yakima, WA at the Harvest Festival. This will be Ridgeline’s first time ever at this competition. They are really proud of their program, “More To Me.” It features music from film “Rocky” and the 1950’s classic film “On the Waterfront.” It tells the story of a prizefighting boxer who has to overcome defeat to get what they want in the end, but “More To Me” is really about how all of us have fights to win and lose in life. That our wins and losses don’t define us. It is our response to the obstacles in life that make us what and who we are. We hope to continue to share this inspired story through the month with the Northwest Championships at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR on October 28th. Thank you Falcons for supporting us at football games, at our our two community events here at RHS, and if you have made it on the road to see us in competition!

Veterans Day Honor Wall
2023 Ridgeline HS Veterans Honor Wall
We would like to honor the veterans in your family during Veterans Day next month. We have a few questions and you can upload a photograph of your family members and closest friends who have served. These vets will be honored during the assembly and throughout the week on our video screens in the Commons.
You can only fill out one form, but each form can accept up to 5 veterans. We are requesting students and staff to fill out information for one veteran, but you can add up to four more if you have a lot of service history in your immediate family.
Photographs in uniform are wonderful, but it is not required that uploaded photos are of someone in their uniform. Please complete submissions by Thursday, November 2nd so we can include your honorees in the assembly the following week. Thank you for helping us honor those who you are close to. Veterans Day is an important day to celebrate our service men and women.
