Keep Your Eye on All of Them
Dear Ross Community,
For those of you who have more than one child, chances are you have at least one fireball and one less explosive in the group. So I've been continuously watching my fireball for the yearly holiday pressure-cooker eruption, and didn't notice that it was actually his sibling who was having her first year of impatience poisoning. Last night, my four-year-old meekly asked if she could open just one small gift, and when I said it wasn't time yet, she sobbed on my shoulder like we'd just watched "The Notebook."
There was an article on holiday stress in kids last year that is no longer available online (the nerve) but the takeaways were: make sure your child gets plenty of physical activity during the day, monitor sugar intake, and stay as close to routine as possible, even when traveling. I will definitely be running my little pressure cooker around to help her manage these big holiday emotions!
It's time for PTA business, compadres. Our Holiday Festival was a great success this year! Thank you to all the families and members of the neighborhood who volunteered their time, baked goods, and more to make this event so fantastic. A special thank you to tree sale lead Liz Lowry, bake sale lead Katie Swafford, and our volunteer activity lead Chrissy Frey.
Don't forget there are three more days of Spirit Week, and the time has come to pick up your Ross merchandise tomorrow and Thursday morning before school! There is not much more to remember other than to have a fantastic holiday and winter break. We will see you on the other side.
