Hungate Echo
Autumn Term, Week 1
A word from Mr Broom
Our first week is now over and just like that, all our wonderful children are settled back into their school routines. I must say that the vast majority of pupils looked absolutely wonderful in their new uniforms, representing our values extremely well.
Children have been visiting our forest school this week, and have thoroughly enjoyed working in the outdoors. I can't wait to see this element of our curriculum blossom under the leadership of Miss Weston, who is just as excited as the children to get this initiative up and running.
Next week Mrs Weights is completing the training for our Family THRIVE practices which will be rolled out across the school. I can't wait.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Hello from your Energy Ambassadors!
Today marked the first meeting of the academic year with the Energy Ambassadors. Our ultimate aims are to reduce energy usage across school, save money and promote sustainability. We discussed our long term goals, the targets we have with the scheme and the different strategies we can implement across school to meet them.
This exciting new project will begin expanding over the Autumn term and will be launched across school in the coming weeks and months.
So much to be excited about!
Drop offs in the morning in EYFS
Please do not use this time to speak to teachers. Please make an appointment or pass any information at the office who will pass this on to the teachers. Please leave promptly once class teachers are collecting. Children will be lining up on the playground from Monday. An extra gate is going to be put in.
Faye's Great Yorkshire Abseil!
This year Faye has chosen to zipline 35ft over the Ilkley Moor boulders before abseiling 50ft down 'The Cow' all to raise money in remembrance of her Daddy.
Please follow the link below to read Faye's story and to donate to such a worthy cause.
Staff Shoutouts
Staff shoutouts are back for 24-25 and there's no better way of helping to keep our staff morale high than letting them know how you think.
Happy Staff + Happy Children = Happy Family.
If you can spare a minute or two to let someone know how great they are, it would be much appreciated, especially at this challenging time for us all. Thank you.

Regular Items - Now Echo Regulars
Following feedback from our parent governors, we've updated the way that the weekly Hungate Echo works so that it is sharper with information you need. A new newsletter, known as the Echo Regulars will contain all the most important regular information that our families may need. It has a permanent home on our website at the link below. Here you will find community events, regular reminders and key information. When I update it, I'll put a short line at the bottom of the Hungate Echo to let you know.
