Cedar Reader
Cedar Park Middle School - October 2023
Belong. Believe. Achieve.
The Beginning of a New and Healthy School Year
We are 6 weeks into the school year, and it's been great! The students are more positive and engaged than the last several years; teachers are enjoying connecting with kids and getting to know them on a more personal level (we actually know what they look like), and students are learning to use lockers, how to be organized, and what social time at lunch looks like. They are organizing games at lunch, going to the library to work on puzzles, and we all enjoyed our first whole-school assembly last week.
As you can see below, October is a VERY busy month with many opportunities to engage teachers, families and students in creating productive, meaningful partnerships. WE are committed to welcome your family to the school and connect with teachers about your student's progress. We also understand that there will be hard conversations for some families, but those conversations seek to create a partnership and connection. The more parents and teachers can align, the more successful our students will be. We have no judgement - our goal is to be your partner and make your student successful and thrive and feel belonging.
Finally, our single school fundraiser event is in full-swing and our signature event, the 5K Run is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th. This is our 8th year of the event, and it is a lot of fun. You can volunteer to be part of the event, or you can just show up to cheer on our kids for an hour or two. WE love any support and cheering to encourage the kids to finish their run.
We also have a Spirit Week that week, so check out the flyer below for daily themes.
Thank you for all your support. We look forward to seeing you at conferences.
