School Social Worker Week
March 2-8, 2025, is National School Social Work Week! CHPS is very grateful for the work our team of social workers do each day for our Hylanders!
The theme for National School Social Work Week 2025 is “Unite to Ignite: Celebrating our Impact.” School Social Work Week 2025 celebrates the collective power and passion of school social workers who unite communities to ignite positive change in the lives of students, families, and schools.

March Celebrations & Recognitions!
March is Women's History Month
CHPS will be recognizing this month by working with CHHS students on stories put together by The Heights Herald (CHHS Student Newspaper)'s Safiya Hajihussein!
Women's History Month is an annual observance to highlight the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. We are excited to share social media posts created by our CHHS students throughout this month!
March is Music in our Schools Month
CHPS is proud to have such a robust music program at all levels! We are kicking off this month with the CA band and choir students visiting all the elementary schools today to perform! We will be posting some fun looks at different concerts and events from our music programs througout the month!
Of course, we wouldn't have such great music and theater programs without this amazing staff of band, choir, music, and theater teachers! Thank you all for what you do for our Hylanders!
March is Youth Art Month
March is Youth Art Month! CHPS has many art classes from Early Childhood up through high school! We are excited to give you a glimpse into some of their classrooms throughout this month to check out our artistically talented Hylanders and the things they have been creating!
Welcome to our Four Promise Fellows!
CHPS is one of twelve school districts participating in a statewide pilot to address chronic absenteeism. In Minnesota, 74.5% of public school students consistently attended class more than 90% of the time school was in session in the 2022-23 school year; this is an increase from the 2021-22 school year when 69.8% of students attended school consistently.
One tactic CHPS is utilizing as part of this attendance pilot is hiring four “Promise Fellows.” We entered into a contract with the Minnesota Alliance with Youth, and they provided the Promise Fellows to support students and create a sense of belonging, connect them to after-school programs, and motivate them to attend school consistently.
Two Promise Fellows, Delaney and Caitlin, are supporting CA; two more are placed at CHHS, Yves and Daniel. The Promise Fellows are working with the Attendance Team at their respective school. Welcome to Heights.
New CHPS School Health Line

This number is not where you will report an absence, it is only for advice on whether or not to send your child to school
