Daily Assignments for Monday, May 11
- Today we are learning about the "Order of Operations" for solving problems with multiple operations
- For example: What's 5+(6x4)-3
- If you solved from left to right you'd get 41, but when you correctly follow the "Order of Operations," you get 26
- HOW??!!
- Watch the "Math Antics" video posted in Google Classroom on "Order of Operations" to learn the correct way to solve problems with multiple operations involved (like the one above)
- Complete the google form to practice following the order of operations
Language Arts: Text Structure/Text Features Review
- Remember: There are 5 main nonfiction text structures: Description, Sequence, Compare/Contrast, Problem/Solution, and Cause/Effect
- Click the link below to watch a flocabulary video that previews all 5 nonfiction text-structures (It's one of my FAVORITES)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kWGQ-_ipBY
- Last week, we dug into "DESCRIPTION"
- Today, we are focusing on "SEQUENCE"
1. View the Slide on Sequence (Watch the video embedded on the slide, and read through the information, including the list of key words.)
2. Write your own "SEQUENCE" paragraph using the Google Doc provided in Google Classroom (you have your choice of 3 topics.)
3. Complete the "Graphic Features of Informational Texts" Study Island Ribbon to REVIEW nonfiction text features. (It has already been assigned!)
