Bridlemile Strings Presents a Lunchtime Concert
Thank you, Mr. Chaney and Mr. Bennett!
From Music
Students have been hard at work in music class and having lots of fun! There has been lots of singing, dancing and playing. We have been working on community building, song form, playing recorders, patterns in music and solfege (Do Re Mi).
Students involved with band and orchestra are making huge progress. All of their hard work is really paying off! They are not only learning how to play their instruments, but also the responsibility that comes with it. On Thursday, the orchestra performed for the 2nd and 3rd grade lunch. The band will perform at the next assembly.
Single Subject Acceleration (SSA)
The window to apply for Single Subject Acceleration in math for next year will close on March 31st. Families interested in applying for SSA can find more information and the application link on the district page: https://www.pps.net/Page/2886
This is the last year in which students will be able to apply for SSA in the spring of 5th grade. The district has made a change to the SSA program, which means that after this year it will not be possible to accelerate and skip 6th grade math. For families of current 4th grade students, this spring will be the last opportunity to apply for SSA-M. Compacted Math and other acceleration options at the Middle School level will remain in place in future years.
Current 5th graders who are accepted into SSA for next year will be placed into the Compacted Math course. More information about MS math tracks can be found here: https://www.pps.net/Page/21880
Save the Date: Thurs. April 10th, 6pm-7:30pm is STEAM Night!
Come to Bridlemile open house night and have your Beagle show you around! We are excited for this opportunity for students to walk their families through a student-guided tour of the classroom and current STEAM work.
Classrooms will display current S(cience)T(echnology)E(ngineering) A(rts) M(ath) projects. Visit throughout the school, meet staff, catch up with friends, enjoy a pizza dinner generously provided by PTA.
Ida B. Wells High School Physics students (some Bridlemile alums!) will host science exhibits at this event as well!
