We are done with the design phase of the field, which includes a quality synthetic turf field for soccer, football, and fastpitch. This project will also feature a quarter-mile walking path the public can use. High-performance athletic fields are a part of the necessary infrastructure in a high-quality district like Port Angeles, and I can't wait to see our student-athletes in action! The next step in this process is to put the project out to bid after the first of the year. We will break down the project into two bids:

1. Site Work - We hope to hire a local company to do the ground/site work at Monroe Field. It is important to us to keep as many jobs local to support our community!

2. Turf Work - We will hire a contracted synthetic turf company to install the field.

The anticipated completion date for the field is in the fall of 2023. If all goes to plan, this time next year, our community will have another quality athletic field! Stay tuned as we will provide more updates as things progress. This is an exciting time for our school district!

The PAHS Rider Crew hosted their first ever Fall Festival in October. Students had a blast trick or treating in the 400 hall, bobbing for apples, pressing their own cider, decorating pumpkins, participating in a costume contest, and so much more! See if you can find Waldo in the photos below.

Now, more than ever, we want to understand what’s in our meals – the ingredients, especially the nutritional and allergen information. So Happy provides transparency, with clear product descriptions and graphical representations for every nutritional category.

Clallam County is in critical need of foster families. Recently passed and adopted legislation states that if there is no available foster home in a county where a child is requested to be brought into care, the judge may keep that child in the home they're requesting to be removed from.

Clallam County needs 15 more foster families to end our critical need. To create a supportive community, we need closer to 50 foster homes.

YOU are invited to attend a “Foster Care Awareness Night” to support this endeavor! During this time, you can learn different ways to be involved and what the process looks like if you want to help answer this call.

YOU are invited to nominate a community member for multiple categories! In particular, we need YOUR help with these categories:

• Educator of the Year: Recognizes a teacher, coach, or educational staff member employed by the Port Angeles School District or a private school in Port Angeles who has exhibited impressive leadership and achieved exceptional results toward the overall development of youth in grade levels K-12.

• Young Leader of the Year: Awarded to an individual, age 18-39, who exemplifies a commitment to the health and future of our community and has made an impact during the past year beyond the responsibilities and expectations of their job.

A panel of judges from the community will select three finalists from each category. The finalists in each category will be announced in mid-December.

Finalists MUST be available to attend the Community Awards Gala on January 28, 2023.

A winner from each category will be announced at the awards gala.

With the support of our amazing community, Frugals donated $1,070 to Lincoln High School! Students will decide together how to use these donated funds!

Sculptural Lantern After-school Workshop

Cocoon Lantern After-school Workshop

Join us for an afternoon of making the beautiful and popular cocoon lanterns! With sticks, tissue paper, and some glue, we'll be creating works of art that can be strung up or set on a table to be admired.

Light Art Experience

Free | Lit nightly from 4pm-8pm
Let your path through Webster's Woods be guided by Light Art sculptures during the dark months of winter. The selected works will be exhibited alongside over 100 existing sculptures throughout 5 acres of forested parkland, transforming the park with light and color.

Wintertide Festival of Lights
