Gaberik Holm, Current Senior on the Delayed Entry Program: Marines
What got you interested in the Marines?
I was interested in the Marines because I wanted to push myself and I was interested in the fact that the Marines are like one big family.
What is a Delayed start?
The Delayed Entry Program is a program that can help people get ready for bootcamp by getting them used to some of the physical and mental challenges of it.
What classes are you taking that align with what you want to do in the Marines or after?
I am taking AP calculus and AP physics plus AVID because I still want to go to college while I am in the service.
What is your plan after the Marines?
I plan to stay in the Marines for awhile but want go to college after job training.
What activities, sports or clubs you involved in?
I run cross country, track and plan on doing wrestling in the winter.
What advice do you have for your peers about planning now for the future?
It's never too early to start planning for the future. Make sure to get your future figured out now in high school before you graduate.
Anything else you want to add?
I hope people start to realize that Marines are strong and intelligent.

the Target Corporation Solar Scholarship program. Additional scholarships are also available for students interested in the solar and renewable energy program.
