Fairview Public Schools
District Update October 2024
Superintendent's Message
Dear Fairview Community,
As we continue into the beautiful month of October, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude for your continued support and partnership as we progress through the school year. With the first few weeks behind us, our students have settled into their routines, and I am proud of the dedication and enthusiasm they have demonstrated in both academics and extracurricular activities.
Important October Highlights:
1. Student Safety:
As the days grow shorter, we want to remind everyone about the importance of safety, particularly during drop-off and pick-up times. Please adhere to all traffic guidelines, use crosswalks, and remind your children to be cautious as they travel to and from school.
2. Fall Events and Celebrations:
October is also a month full of exciting school events, athletic competitions, and various extracurricular activities. We encourage students to participate and parents to get involved. These events help foster a strong sense of community and school spirit, which is central to a positive educational experience.
3. Mental Health Awareness:
October is also National Bullying Prevention Month and Mental Health Awareness Week. It is important that we continue to create a safe and supportive environment where every child feels valued and respected. If your child needs support, our school counselors and staff are here to help. Let’s work together to ensure a kind and inclusive school culture.
Looking Ahead:
As we move deeper into the fall, we remain focused on academic excellence, student well-being, and creating opportunities for every student to succeed. Your involvement and engagement play a key role in our collective success, and we deeply appreciate your partnership in fostering a positive and enriching educational environment.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or school if you have any questions or concerns. Our doors are always open, and we are here to support you and your family.
Wishing you all a safe and productive month ahead.
Yours in education,
Damon J. Englese, M.Ed.
