Walk to School Day
Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 is International Walk to School Day. Please join Brookhaven's students, parents, and teachers as we celebrate healthy habits and safer streets. Research has shown that walking can help with the overall learning process. It is an easy way to get the daily physical activity that kids need to be healthy. Let us come together to promote healthy habits, reduce traffic congestions, and reinforce safe walking behavior.
To make this event more convenient for everyone, we have set up three designated meeting points around the school where families can gather before walking together. Choose one of the following 3 locations that works best for you:
1. Somerset Dr. & Brookhaven Ave. (North of school)
2. Mac Innes Pl. & Brower Ave. (East of school)
3. Swanee Ave. & Brookhaven Ave. (South of school)
We encourage you to arrive at your chosen checkpoint by 7:20 AM. From there, we will walk as a group to the school and celebrate the joy of walking to school together. Do wear comfortable shoes and bring your smiles. We look forward to seeing you there.
