Weekly Update September 16 - 20 '24
Families,
Thank you for a great start to the school year! In the next few weeks we have several opportunities for your family to be further involved at Truscott. We have two different parent groups. Café con Leche is our parent group that hosts many of our family nights, raises money to support our classrooms and discusses ways to make the school better for students and families. SAC or our School Accountability Committee is our parent group that helps advise the workings of our school. In this group, we discuss student data, systems and structures of a Title I school, our state school plan (SUIP) and issues or concerns to discuss to make the school a better place for students and families.
Our first SAC Meeting will be held, in-person or virtually, on September 23, 2024, from 11:00 - 12:00 pm. During this meeting I will share our progress towards our state plan, as well as share our Title I Annual Meeting video, describing what it means to be a Title I school. We hope you can join us! Please use this link to join the meeting if you are attending virtually. We hope to see you there!
Our next Café con Leche meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 9:30 - 11:00 am. During this meeting we will hear from our Superintendent, Dr. Marc Schaffer, share our Title I Annual Meeting video, and plan for upcoming family events.
If you have any questions about either family group, please reach out to Mrs. Hanford or Marisela Posegate (formerly Varela) our full time Family Engagement Specialist. We hope to see you there!!
Enjoy your weekend,

!Buenos Dias! We are off to a great new year at Truscott!! This year, we need your help: we're aking that all our students be able to have tennis shoes for PE days in class. It helps keeping their bodies safe, and not making marks on our gym floor for the custodians to have extra work to clean off. Students have P.E. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. You can check with your classroom teacher exactly which day they go to P.E.
If your family is in need of a pair of tennis shoes, the District had shoes donated by soles 4 souls so please reach out to Mrs. Mueller and she can request a pair of shoes for your child.
Thanks for your cooperation on keeping your kiddos safe! Happy Labor Day Weekend!!

Each year, Americans nationally celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America from September 15 to October 15. September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for the Latin American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18. Loveland’s heritage month is known as Latiné Heritage Month. Join us for the Loveland Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 14!
