- All schedule change requests must be submitted using the schedule change request form link. We use this process to keep all schedule change requests in one location.
- Please DO NOT make schedule change requests via email. Email requests will not be honored. If your counselor has questions regarding your request, they will reach out to you. Be sure you are checking your email.
- Students must log in with an SDOJ email address to gain access to the schedule change request form.
- Due to the late release of schedules this year, requested schedule changes may not be made until mid-August when school counselors return to the building.
- Lunch periods will not be determined until late August.
- All TA requests will be processed the first week of school. If you were approved to TA at course selection, please see your counselor the first week of school to pick up the necessary paperwork.
- Flex time/work release will be added when your YA instructor makes contact with your counselor to let them know which class periods you need flex time. All Coop and YA questions should be directed to your YA/Coop instructor.
Last academic school days:
- The last day of school for seniors will be Thursday, May 30.
- Graduation practice is Friday, May 31 at 7:45 am.
- A BrightArrow notification was sent to seniors and their parents regarding graduation practice and the graduation ceremony. Please check your email for details.
- The last day for underclassmen, faculty, and staff will be Friday, May 31.

Students who need to ride the bus will have access to work quietly in the commons.
- Exam exemptions were distributed to students on May 15. Exam exemption forms were due NO LATER THAN May 22, 2024 at the end of the school day.
Chromebooks:
- Seniors may purchase their Chromebooks. These Chromebooks were scheduled to be retired and sold for a nominal fee. The SDoJ has decided to offer these Chromebooks to seniors for $20.
- All seniors have been charged $20 for their Chromebook and can either pay online or in the main office (checks can be made out to SDoJ). The charge will be removed from a student’s account if they return their Chromebook. A Google form was sent to seniors, via email, instructing them to fill out this form if they would like to keep their Chromebook.
- SENIORS, if you decide you are not going to purchase your Chromebook, please return your Chromebook, charger, and protective cover, to Mrs. Ganser or Mrs. Gehring in the main office BEFORE graduation practice on May 31.
- SDoJ has also decided that underclassmen will be allowed to retain their Chromebook for the summer months and bring them back to school when they return in the fall.
- If you will not be returning to JHS in the fall, please drop off your Chromebook in the main office.
- Parents: If you do not want your student to keep their Chromebook over the summer, please ask them to return their Chromebook to the main office prior to leaving for the summer.
- All SDoJ 1:1 policies are still enforced during the summer months.

Wisconsin Guarantee
Starting August 1, 2024, with the Class of 2025, the new Wisconsin Guarantee will offer guaranteed admission to all Universities of Wisconsin for all who qualify. First-year applicants from Wisconsin high schools who are in the top 10% of their class at the end of 11th grade, or Wisconsin residents who are homeschooled and receive an ACT score in the national 90th percentile ranking or higher, or are a National Merit Scholarship finalist will be guaranteed to all UW universities except UW-Madison.
Additionally, first-year applicants from Wisconsin high schools who are in the top 5% of their class at the end of 11th grade, or Wisconsin residents who are homeschooled and receive an ACT score in the national 98th percentile ranking or higher or are a National Merit Scholarship finalist will be guaranteed admission to UW-Madison provided that they apply on or before the Early Action deadline.
Please visit the following website for more information about the Wisconsin Guarantee:
Direct Admit WI and the WI Guarantee Parent Letter
May 2024
Dear Families and Students of the Class of 2026 and beyond,
We are writing to share exciting news about the University of Wisconsin System’s Wisconsin Guarantee and Direct Admit Wisconsin and how they might apply to your child.
In addition to the traditional application process, new Wisconsin legislation will offer these two additional paths to first-year/freshman admissions.
The Wisconsin Guarantee
The Wisconsin Guarantee path ensures admission for Wisconsin high school students in the top 5% of their class by GPA rank at the end of junior year (6 semesters) who apply to UW-Madison. Likewise, this legislation also ensures applicants admission to the other four-year UW campuses for students in the top 10% of their class at the end of the junior year.
The legislation requires that all Wisconsin high schools calculate the top 5% and top 10% based on cumulative GPA after the 6th semester and note it on transcripts when they apply. Students who meet this criteria will be notified of this distinction.
Direct Admit Wisconsin
The Direct Admit Wisconsin path is a proactive admission decision for students/families who choose to be considered within participating Wisconsin high schools. Choosing to participate allows University of Wisconsin campuses to review a student’s academic records directly from the student information system. This allows the University of Wisconsin campuses to “direct admit” students after the 6th semester who have completed the minimum college entrance course requirements and based only on cumulative GPA. No application would be required.
With the exception of UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, and UW-Madison, all University of Wisconsin campuses participate in Direct Admit Wisconsin.
Jefferson High School will be participating in Direct Admit Wisconsin starting with the Class of 2026. Because active parental consent is required to allow this access, parents/guardians will have this option as part of our 11th grade registration process.
Although both programs aim to retain top Wisconsin students within the state, admission into specific programs/majors within each university is not a guarantee. We encourage all families to review the latest information on both paths to admission that provides a detailed comparison of each. The Wisconsin Guarantee
If you have questions after reviewing the information, please contact your child’s school counselor.
Sincerely,
Katie Grundahl

It is time to think about ordering your final transcript. Your final transcript can be ordered now and held until semester two grades are ready. When ordering, be sure to select Hold For Grades. If this is not selected, your transcript will be processed when the request is received. Colleges require your final transcript to complete your enrollment. It is your responsibility to complete this process.

HOSA Attends State Leadership Conference
In mid April, thirteen members of the Jefferson High School HOSA - Future Health Professionals chapter attended the State Leadership Conference (SLC) at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells. From these attendees, JHS had individuals take proficiency tests in health care related subjects, compete in events, and attend breakout sessions while at the conference.
JHS also had multiple members qualify for the International Leadership Conference (ILC) in Houston TX. These students will be traveling to Texas June 25-30 to compete in events, attend educational sessions, and network with other health professionals. The following students qualified in the following events: Kiara Cherry (Cultural Diversities and Disparities in Health Care), Isabelle Hammonds (Medical Spelling), and the team of Emily Boucher and Leah Worzalla (substitute Kiernan Kawleski) (CPR/First Aid). JHS HOSA would like to thank the School District of Jefferson and the community for their support of these future health professionals!
