Transportation - BusRight App
Bus routes have been changed this year to accommodate the new school schedules and increased safety. The BusRight App is how the Transportation Department will be communicating with parents. It provides real-time updates so parents can track where the bus is.
1. Download the BusRight App: Our Transportation Department is using this tool to communicate and allow parents to track buses in real time. Downloading the app is essential to monitoring and communicating bus transportation.
2. Check for Updated Information: Use the BusRight app to send us a message and check for updates, bus information, and pickup and drop off times and locations.
3. Still Need help? Please contact the bus garage via phone at (208)365-3207.
We’ll see you on Monday! Please have your student at their bus stop five minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
No School Breakfast on the first day of School!
As in past years, school breakfast will not be available on the first day of school.
Our food service staff are busy with parents coming to pay for meals and complete meal applications. It is the only day of the year we do not provide breakfast. We will be prepared to serve everyone school lunch!
If you haven’t yet filled out a Free/Reduced application, they are available on our website, online on Infinite Campus, or at any of our schools.
Cell Phone Policy & Personal Electronics at School Update!
At the August 12 Regular School Board Meeting, the ESD Board of Trustees approved an update to the district policy regarding cell phones and personal electronic devices for the 2024-2025 school year.
Policy: Personal devices, including cell phones, ipads, and similar electronics, are prohibited during the school day and on school buses. These devices must be silenced and stored out of sight in backpacks or locker. The full policy can be read here.
Why: Research shows that unrestricted access can harm students’ emotional well-being, safety, and academic growth. This policy aims to enhance student well-being and academic success.
How can you and your student connect during the day:
If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact the school office, and a message will be relayed to your child. Students may request to use a school phone if they need to contact home.
Exceptions:
Smart Watches are allowed but must be silent and not cause distraction.
Black Canyon Junior/Senior High School: No devices may be seen or heard except during nutrition breaks and lunch.
Emmett High School Students can access their cell phones during lunch, during passing periods, and at nutrition break. Phones must be out of sight upon entering any classroom.
Reminder! This is a 5-day school week!
The first three Fridays of the school year are school days! Our regular 4-day schedule starts after the first three weeks. September 13 is our first Friday off!
