Teen Science Cafes can count as STEM Lectures. This may be important for seniors who need to get their ten lectures completed before May.
Flex Block Career Talk - Tues, Feb 13
There will be a roundtable in the library from 11:30 to 2:00 to talk with professionals in constructions, architecture, civil engineering and more. Stop by during your lunch or flex. This can count as a STEM lecture.
Field trip to GlobalFoundries on Thurs, Mar 28
The STEM Academy will be hosting a field trip to GlobalFoundries from 8:40 am until noon. Mar 28 is currently scheduled to be a B day. The first ten students to let Mrs. Smith know they are interested can go on this trip. The student list will be finalized by Fri, Feb 23.

The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont offers a variety of fun, immersive, residential summer learning programs hosted at college campuses all over the state. Each Institute focuses on a unique area of interest, and introduces you to mentors and friends who will help you pursue your passions and transform your future. Applications Now Open for FREE Agriscience Summer Academies at UVM
UVM Extension’s 4-H Program invites rising 8th-12th graders to apply for one of three, free, residential summer academies held on the UVM campus June 23-29. AgroTek Innovation, now in its third year, exposes students to agriscience innovation skills by diving deep into one of three topics; Culturing Cells for Healthier Soils, Shifting the Waste to Value Paradigm (converting agricultural waste into value added products), and Using Virtual Reality for More Precise Agriculture. In addition to learning content, participants will build important relationships with undergraduate student mentors along with faculty and staff. Deadline to apply is April 5. Individuals who identify as BIPOC, female identifying or LGBTQ+, humans traditionally under-represented in agriculture, are encouraged to apply.
