Be Prepared for Snow
The snow and cold weather have officially arrived. We want to make sure students are prepared to go outside in the elements. Students should be bringing: Hats, Gloves, Coats, and Snow Boots.
As a reminder AMC is part of Region #5 for the district's school closure and delays announcements.

American Charter Academy’s vision statement says AMC students will excel in academics as well as in their chosen career. We will produce a generation of young people who possess the habits, skills, and attitudes necessary to empower them to succeed as contributing members of society, lifelong learners, and outstanding citizens.
Student's in Math 7 class are learning how to manage money by earning paychecks, paying rent, and making bank transactions. Thank you, Mrs. Crum, for teaching students skills and helping them be contributing members of society.

Principal's Corner
Hello AMC Families,
During AMC's 1st Quarter Assembly, I told students I had a BIG problem! So many students earned 1st Quarter Honor Roll we had to call them up front in several different groups! That's a great problem to have; 70% of AMC's 4th - 8th grade students earned 1st Quarter Honor Roll Certificates, and 10 of those students received Principal's Honor Roll Certificates and earned 4.0 GPAs !! WOW, Very Impressive! Thank you, AMC staff and AMC families for supporting student learning at American Charter. Students have done an amazing job demonstrating academic excellence first quarter. I can't wait to see how well they do second quarter.
Also, I look forward to the day when AMC has a new school and has room to invite families to AMC Assemblies. If Proposition No. 1 on the Matsu ballot has enough yes votes, AMC will have funding for a new school.
Thank you, everyone for partnering with AMC as we pursue ‘Academic Excellence Together!’
Sincerely, Ms. Farren
Staff Spotlight
Mr. Steve Martin was born in Grove City, Pennsylvania. When he was 7 years old his family moved to the West Coast, and when he was 12 years old his family moved to central Florida where he graduated from high school. When Steve was 19, he enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to field artillery. While in the army, Steve was sent to Alaska, and that is where he retired. Steve is married to Anna Martin, and they have four adult children: three daughters and a son, and 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. After Steve retired from the army he worked at local high schools in Wasilla as a custodian for 5 years, and after a break for 4 years, Steve started working at American Charter Academy. This is Steve’s 6th year as the night custodian at AMC. Steve keeps the school safe and secure and gave valuable input on AMC’s new school design.
