CTS Snapshot

Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Students receive lesson stars where a teacher feels a student has made an excellent contribution in their lesson. Some students receive multiple lesson stars across the week, below are the students who have received the most stars for each year group this week:

Year 7:

Year 8:

Year 9:

Year 10:

James 12A.

Victoria 13B and Ana 13A.

We would like to congratulate Year 11 student James who has recently received a Grade 6 Distinction in his guitar exam, we are sure you will join us in congratulating James on this amazing achievement.

Our co-curricular programme has returned this week, please see below the clubs available to students, if you wish to register your child, please do this via Edulink.

Thank you to Corby Fire Service for visiting us this week and speaking with our Year 12 students in their enrichment session. The group discussed the routes into the Fire Service, an overview on fire safety in the home and then had a very exciting look at the equipment on the trucks!

Well done to Year 10 student Lottie who achieved her her blue belt in kickboxing over the Summer break.

Our students have made a fantastic start to their learning, and lots of lesson stars and achievement points have been given out by staff. In particular we would like to celebrate these students this week who have been recognised most highly for their efforts:

We held our Open Event for prospective new students this week. Thank you to all who took the time to attend, it was a great turnout and wonderful to meet so many potential new students.

De Montfort University had our students in a spin when they visited this week! Our pop up shop guests brought fun facts, prizes and brochures to all year groups today during lunch breaks.

DMU are a local University offering over 150 courses.

• Year 12 students will be visiting the UK University and Apprenticeship Fair on Tuesday 8th October.
• We will hold our Sixth Form Open Event on Thursday 10th October from 5.00pm to 6.30pm with presentations at 5.00pm and 6.00pm.
