Title: i-Ready Family Informational Night

Brief Description: An opportunity for your families to learn how our schools will be using i-Ready this year.

PTA is currently selling emergency kits that you can purchase directly from the PTA website. If you ordered through PTA, your child's emergency kit will be delivered directly to Chapman Hills. If you would like to create your own emergency kit, the following items are what we recommend to place inside a gallon ziploc bag:

• 2 SMALL WATER BOTTLES

• 2 HIGH ENERGY, LONG LASTING NO SALT SNACKS

• 1 SOLAR BLANKET

• BANDAIDS

• 1 SPOON

• 1 LOLLIPOP

• 2 APPLESAUCES

• 1 FRUIT CUP

• 3 ENTREES (EX.VIENNA SAUSAGE, BEANEE WEENEE, CHEF BOYARDEE MEAL)

• SANITIZING WET WIPES

We feel it is important for each child to have some sort of emergency kit. These kits will be sent home at the end of the year for families to replenish anything that has expired.

I'm still looking for 1 member from our community to represent Chapman Hills as the District Advisory Committee member. Here's an excerpt of what the DAC does:

The District’s Strategic Plan and Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) calls for more intensive support to parents for student achievement and engagement through the District Advisory Council (DAC)

• Meets compliance for Title I/State Compensatory Education (SCE) parent advisory council

• Involves parents in the planning, development and evaluation of Title I and SCE programs and services in the District

• Serves as the District LCAP Committee

Responsibilities: Learn about state, federal regulations and provide input Discuss academic programs and services Share effective practices from school sites Strategize to increase parent involvement and engagement Provide recommendations to district administrators and the Board of Education

The committee meets 4 times a year, 9:30-11:00 at the District Board Rooms

We are looking to purchase a Book Vending Machine for our library. If you have any loose change in your pocket or couch cushions, maybe you would consider tossing it into our change bucket in the front office.

Please consider joining the PTA and having a voice for your child's education. We currently have 130 members who have signed up. Let's see if we can get to 200 before the end of the month!
