E-wallets are a convenient, cashless way for your child to shop. You can load funds into a Scholastic account and they shop with a barcode. Information about the e-wallets can be found here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/geistelementaryschool1
New this year: “Share the Fair”! If you set up an e-wallet, you have the option to donate a few extra dollars to help ALL students in our school purchase books. Any contributions are greatly appreciated and will go to help ensure every student has a special week during the book fair.

These students were nominated by a staff member because of their ability to demonstrate the following character traits consistently:
Engaged: The level of enthusiasm and dedication a student feels toward their learning, and
Self-Aware: Having an understanding of your own thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs, and actions.
In November, we will again focus on students' abilities to be academically-engaged, as this is foundational to building stamina, effort and academic success.

Grant in Action
We’re thrilled to share that a special project grant is now underway, celebrating the diverse names and heritages of our students and staff!
At Geist Elementary, many students have unique names that often get mispronounced. This project is helping to change that by empowering students to proudly teach others how to say their names correctly!
Grant Highlights:
The PTO purchased a copy of "Teach Us Your Name" by Huda Essa, a story that resonates deeply with our students as well as materials to create vibrant displays featuring students' names with phonetic spellings and creative visuals to be created and displayed throughout the school.
Impact:
All students and staff are benefiting from engaging discussions and activities that foster a culture of inclusion and respect.
Students are sharing their experiences, expressing their identities through art, and learning together in meaningful ways.
We’re excited to share photos of our students in action as they embrace this journey of pride and connection. Thank you to our amazing ENL teacher, Alyson Stephenson for your vision and implementation of this incredible grant and to all our donors and supporters for making this important project possible!
