Principal's Corner
Dear Tuscumbia School Community,
I can’t believe it… we just finished the last full week of September. Where is the time going?! In just a couple of short weeks we will be ending the first quarter of the school year. Teachers should be reaching out with any concerns they have with behavior, grades, etc. If you have specific questions about anything going on in the classroom, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher though.
On Friday, October 4, our Kindergarten through 4th grade students will be hosting a Grandparent’s Day event. We look forward to seeing grandparents next week! Students who will be leaving with their grandparent(s) that day will need to have permission on file before October 4. Please contact your student’s teacher or the main office to provide permission for your student to be checked out by their grandparent(s) no later than October 3.
If you need to make a transportation change for your student, please contact the office by 2:30pm. If you email the front office, please do not assume we have received your email unless you receive an email back. We will always verify transportation changes via email with a response indicating we have received your request. The best way to provide a transportation change is to call the office at 573-369-2375.
Here are some upcoming events to add to your calendar for October:
Monday, October 7: No School – Staff PD Day
Thursday, October 10: Literacy Night
Thursday, October 17: Parent/Teacher Conferences
Friday, October 18: No School!
Friday, October 25: Fall picture retakes / Senior Pictures
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out. Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kirtley
Principal
Post on Our Kindness Wall!
Miller County R-III Schools now have a Kindness eWall through YouUpLift.com and Columbia College! This is a digital wall where students, staff, and parents can submit positive, kind messages to others and those messages will appear on the digital wall on a loop. Messages can include pictures, memes, and GIFs. Submitted messages are reviewed by the school before appearing on the digital wall. The Kindness eWall can be viewed by clicking here and to submit a message, you would scroll down the screen to the message box below. We are currently working on linking the eWall to the school website and to run on the TV in the cafeteria so students and staff can see positive messages throughout the day. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Hopkins.
Join us for Family Literacy Night!

Our daily rate for subs for the 2024-25 school year will be $100/day!
