Welcome Back
Staying Connected
Discover your #aMBITion at MBIT!
From our Director
Greetings MBIT Community!
I hope this letter finds you all enjoying the last moments of summer, preparing for the year ahead. As we gear up for another amazing school year, I want to extend a warm welcome back to each one of you. A special welcome to our new students who will be attending MBIT for the first time. Welcome to career and technical education; we are excited to have you!
I am incredibly excited to begin the new academic year, where we will continue our work to connect students with skills that will lead to family sustaining incomes in each of our 21 programs. As MBIT continues to lead the way in career and technical education, I want to recognize the hard work and commitment of our teachers. They connect students with skills and connect theory to practice in each of our programs. Their dedication to their craft and to our students is incredible. MBIT also cannot function without our incredible support staff teams. Our instructional assistants, our maintenance staff, our business office, and our administrative assistants are critical to our success.
A new year means new opportunities and I encourage our students to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible. There are leadership opportunities in our CTSO organizations, there are competition opportunities, and there are service opportunities as well. All of these will strengthen your connection to MBIT and will enrich your experience at the school. I also encourage our parents to find ways to stay connected with MBIT. We maintain a strong presence on social media where we can celebrate our students’ successes, and we would love to see you engage with us. Additionally, we have formed the MBIT Education Foundation which will hopefully be a way to support MBIT initiatives and opportunities for many years to come. You will hear more about the MBITEF in the fall.
We would also like to welcome our new staff members. The following team members are joining MBIT and we look forward to their contribution to our school.
Victoria Bowling – Instructional Assistant
Carole Chiaravallo – Instructional Assistant
Robert Hutchison – Networking & Operating Systems Security Teacher
Christopher Martinelli – Welding Technology Teacher
Nina Peralta – Cosmetology Teacher
Melissa Phillips - Director L’il Bucks Partners in Learning

As we look forward to another successful school year, we hope you will continue to support our efforts and help us celebrate MBIT whenever possible.
Sincerely,
Mark Covelle, Ed.D.

Report a student absent
How to report a student absent. It is not necessary to call Middle Bucks to report your student's absence. Please respond directly to the absentee email you will receive on the day of the absence; this email is your notification that your student was marked absent at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. You may also notify us of your student's tardiness, need for early dismissal, or absence via this electronic absence form MBIT Report Absence or Dismissal. You may also send an email to absent@mbit.org. Please note that it may take 24 hours to update an absence. A note with the date (s) missed and the reason for the absence upon your student's return will be sufficient too. Thank you, Kim Shores, MBIT Attendance Officer
PA House of Representatives Republican Policy Committee “Back to School”
We were honored to have the opportunity to host the PA House of Representatives Republican Policy Committee “Back to School” series on our campus. This event provided us with a valuable platform to share the successes and ongoing needs of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Bucks County and across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
It was a privilege to welcome lawmakers from across the state and offer them a firsthand look at the impactful work being done within our CTE programs. Their visit allowed us to highlight the importance of CTE in shaping the future of our students and the critical role it plays in our community.
We extend our thanks to Representative Kristin Marcell for her leadership in organizing this event. As a former school board member and Executive Council (JOC) member at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, she brought a deep understanding of and commitment to education, ensuring that our voices were heard.

Summer with Our Co-Op Students!
Important Industry Connections
Our Work-Based Education Coordinators, Mrs. Pamela Swoyer and Mr. Steve Guinan, visited MBIT Co-Op students this summer. As you can tell they were very busy and we are so proud of all of them!
Work-Based Education Experiences include:
Shadowing: Worksite visitation and an opportunity to meet and observe technical and professional employees and business owners in the student's chosen field.
Clinical Experiences: Non-paid, work-based experiences in hospitals, long term care facilities, day care centers, preschools, salons, restaurants, specialty stores, etc.
Internships: Paid and non-paid work-based experiences for a specified length of time.
Apprenticeships: Program related experiences that allow students to earn while they learn and work towards a journeyperson's certification. These experiences are registered through the Federal Department of Labor and the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
Capstone Experiences: Program related placements that are paid, on-the-job training positions and are considered an extension of the classroom. The timeline for placement is individualized and based on student need. Students are trained under the direct supervision of the employer and are assigned a mentor. Students' progress is monitored and evaluated by the school and the employer on a continual basis.
Job/Career Placement Services: Based on the student’s career goals, MBIT provides job placement services to help meet individual needs and interests. Placement rates for MBIT graduates have been excellent and historically exceeded 90% for those students who desire and actively pursue job or college placement.
MBIT is committed to the placement of all successful students.
