Iowa Safe+Sound anonymous reporting tool
Creating a safe learning environment starts with awareness and early reporting of concerning behaviors. That’s why the Iowa Governor’s School Safety Bureau developed Safe+Sound Iowa—an anonymous reporting tool for students, teachers, parents and community members to help identify and provide intervention for students in crisis before they harm themselves or others. Reports are monitored 24/7 by trained dispatchers who immediately vet and share information with the appropriate local school administrators, law enforcement or other community partners— so outreach and support can be provided to the student in need. How to Report What to Report Anyone who has information about a safety concern can prevent: • School violence • Unlawful possession of weapons • Self-harm, and • Other forms of victimization and threatening behavior.
NOTE: The Safe+Sound Iowa website, mobile app and tip line should be used responsibly. Like misusing 911 or filing a false police report, knowingly submitting a false report to Safe+Sound Iowa could have serious consequences, including being charged with a crime

The district has policies and procedures in place to identify and investigate complaints alleging discrimination. If appropriate, the district will take steps to prevent the recurrence of discrimination and to correct its discriminatory effects on the Complainant and others.
A Complainant may attempt to resolve the problem informally by discussing the matter with a building principal or a direct supervisor. Use of the informal or formal grievance procedure is not a prerequisite to the pursuit of other remedies. Please note that informal processes and procedures are not to be used in certain circumstances (e.g., sexual harassment and sexual assault).

A Complainant who wishes to avail himself/herself of this grievance procedure may do so by filing a complaint with the equity coordinator(s).
