A message from our Principal
Hello Eden High School Parents/Guardians,
As the 2023-2024 school year is upon us, I want to extend a warm welcome to you and your high school student(s). I am excited to have your child as part of our school community, and I look forward to another year filled with growth, learning, and achievement.
Here at Eden, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where each child can thrive academically and personally. Our goal is to continue to nurture each student's talents, encourage their curiosity, and guide them on their educational journey.
We encourage open communication between parents, students, and our school staff. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas to share, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we will make this school year a truly rewarding experience for your child!

HOMECOMING BONFIRE
Our Homecoming / Spirit Week bonfire was a great success! We had an amazing turn out and everyone had a great time. A big thank you to Steve Jones and his students for setting up the huge bonfire, Nate Doctor for providing the pallets, Olivia Doctor for always coordinating such great events for our students, all of the chaperones, the Eden PD, & the Eden Fire Department for making it a great night.
HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK!
HOMECOMING HALLWAY COMPETITION!
Every year our classes compete in a hall decorating contest for spirit week. This year the theme was the four seasons. Everyone did an amazing job decorating!!
HOMECOMING PEP RALLY AND DANCE:
All of our Homecoming events were a great success.
The pep rally was full of fun and school spirit.
The homecoming dance was well attended. Everyone arrived at the dance looking fabulous! We would again like to thank Mrs. Doctor, all of the chaperones, and the Eden PD for all of their help to make these events possible.
TRACTOR DAY!
Our annual tractor day was a huge success. Many students drove their tractors to school on September 22. They paraded to both the GLP and Elementary schools. A big thank you to Matt Saramak and Mr. Jones for organizing the day and to the Eden Police Department for their participation and escorting our parade safely.

WE'VE GOT SUPER NEWS!!!
Eugene Schunk, a Senior, was accepted into the 2023 Area All State Orchestra on cello this year. He will travel to Fredonia on Friday and Saturday, November 17-18.
Autumn Wielgasz, a Junior, was named as an alternate on viola.
Both Autumn and Eugene prepared and performed solos back in June to compete for this honor.
NEW FBLA EDEN CHAPTER PRESIDENT
On Wednesday, October 11th, Jenna Jaworski was inducted as the Eden Chapter President at FBLA Fall District Meeting which was held at Williamsville East High School. In addition to the induction ceremony, Jenna attended several workshops to assist her as the President for this school year. Congratulations to Jenna for her commitment and hard work, what a great honor.
WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING
Great Opportunity!
On Thursday, October 5, some of our vocational students had the opportunity to get some hands-on experience at the Construction Career Day field trip. It was a great experience for everyone!
Surprise guest joins the swim team!
The girls varsity swim team had a friendly visitor swimming down lane 4 during practice Tuesday. He gave the girls a lesson in the breaststroke and he was quite impressive.🐸
National Honor Society
On Wednesday, October 18th the National Honor Society held their Fall Induction Ceremony. Two new members were inducted! Congratulations to Meeah Wegrzynowski and Hailey Cooper!
Halloween Spooktacular Concert
The High School Orchestra and Band Spooktacular concert was held on October 26th. The auditorium was de-frightfully decorated and everyone was dressed up in costumes. Great job to everyone, we have so many talented students! Thank you to Mr. Kifner and Mr. Griesinger for a wonderful concert and thank you to the other support staff that were on hand.
Halloween Art
Mrs. Nicastro's Studio and Art Classes got a little creative with pumpkins. Her students were tasked with "anything goes except cutting," There are some very creative solutions.
A huge "thank you" to the Eden Valley Growers who provided us with some really great pumpkins this year.

Most Creative: Nyjah Jovic
Pumpkin under Construction, Nyjah's pumpkin was mixed media, polymer, twine, cardboard, and acrylic paint.
Most well-crafted: Nate Bowden
Dragon Ball Character, Nate's pumpkin was acrylic and mod podge.
Halloween Fun!
It's a Barbie World at the High School! Our High School teachers joined in on the Barbie trend for Halloween!

Mythology Day
It is that time of the semester!!! Mrs. Klausen’s Mythology students had an assignment that they were to pick a Mythological character and dress up as them for the day. They also were to research and create a Google Slide presentation about their character. This has to be one of the best days in Mrs. Klausen’s Mythology class! What a fun day and a great way to learn!!

PARENT EVENT: SameHere Global Mental Health Movement
Please join us for our upcoming series of presentations by Eric Kussin, founder and CEO of the #SameHere Global Mental Health Movement. Eden Central School District has partnered with #SameHere for a wellness initiative that involves training for staff, students, and parents over the next two years. The first session is on November 7th at 6 p.m. in the Eden Middle/High School auditorium. We would love to welcome you to the sessions in person, but if you cannot be present, you can join us on Zoom (click here for log in information).
Topics that will be covered over the course of this initiative include:
- Mental health is a continuum that everyone in the world lives and moves on at different points in their lives.
- We are never stuck in one place, and we have some control over where we move on the continuum.
- The science of mental health and its effects on the body
- Positive vs. maladaptive coping mechanisms to deal with emotional pain
- Stress and trauma active release and rewiring exercises
- Suicide prevention

BLANKET DRIVE!
The annual National Honor Society blanket drive started this week. Please consider donating a new blanket to help the homeless. Blankets can be dropped off at the Attendance office at the Middle/High School. NHS members set a goal of 50 blankets this year.
Donations will be collected from 11/27 to 12/22.
