From The Superintendent's Desk
May 3, 2024
The month of May is here, and the calendar is full. Please make sure to look at the upcoming events. I want to thank all of the dedicated staff and community members who make these events possible. Your commitment to our students and community is truly commendable, and it's what makes our schools such a special place to be.
As we dive into the week ahead, let's remember the power of collaboration and teamwork. By supporting each other and working together, we can accomplish great things and overcome any challenges that may come our way.
Even though this time of year can be hectic, I encourage you all to stay positive in everything you do. Our actions impact those around us.
Thank you for all that you do, day in and day out. Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
A quick breakdown:
Tier I: Core instruction that all students receive (curriculum essential standards, SEL, PBIS, etc.). About 80% of the student body will be successful with Tier I instruction.
Tier II: Additional targeted intervention needed based upon data discussions. About 15% of the student body will need extra support in addition to the Tier I instruction.
Tier III: Intense targeted intervention needed because data shows that the support of Tier I and Tier II intervention just isn't enough for this student. This will be about 5% of the population.
Looking at our needs, how can I (we) support you? How can we support a solid Tier I system, so we can help develop Tier II interventions? Prevention will lessen intervention. Please email your suggestions on how I (we) can support you.

Great Resource
Have you tried using ChatGPT? It is an AI program that can help create activities and projects, along with helping to provide feedback for our students.
Try typing in: Can you create four R.A.F.T. activities for eighth grade science students learning about the spread of infectious diseases? I want the roles to be: medical professional, politician, business owner, and person who caught the disease.
Try: Can you generate four tasks leveled by DoK that 2nd grade students learning about medieval art can complete?
You can even have students submit their assignments/ essays into ChatGPT and ask for feedback, improvements, next steps, etc.
