Board Report - November 2024

• The Veterans Day event went well! Thank you for the Transportation, Grounds, and Maintenance support. Thank you for your service, Mike Hayes/Army, Conan Humphrey/Navy, Claude Lewis/Navy, Phil Snider/Marines, and Rodney Monroe/Navy.

• Exterior doors are remaining a top priority and these are being check in each building weekly or even daily. The maintenance department knows the importance of these door sweeps and are quick to respond when work orders are placed.

• The grounds crews have been mowing the grass that is quickly going to seed as they prepare the lawns for winter.

• All of our HVAC units are running and hopefully are ready to switch from AC to Heat.

• The Maintenance Crew continues to be great resource for Gallagher and WRA at the LH Rather Construction Site.

• Thank you to the Transportation Department for transporting the students to and from the Community Pep Rally and the Veterans Day Assembly!

• Stephanie and Kaylah are working with a communication specialist from Parent Square on developing the layout of our new district website.

• Stephanie worked with BHS to automate the 9th-hour tutorial notifications through the use of Parent Square.

• Our Team implemented two-factor authentication for district email accounts.

• Stephanie also is working through the E-rate process to extend our Nextlink Internet service and acquire a new fiber lease contract.

• Mike is working with United Private Network regarding the damaged fiber optic line from the Bailey Inglish Server Room to Finley-Oates.

• Last week, Mike, Daniel, and Carlito attended Cybersecurity Training hosted by TCEA. They learned about best practices and talked with many vendors who can provide the monitoring needed beyond our existing EDR solution.

• The grade beam excavation, formwork, and rebar installation on two areas are underway.
• The grade beam work that has been completed has now had the formwork removed.
• The auger piles appear to be completed in all areas.
