Please make sure your student has their ID and trust card every day and they are prominently displayed on lanyards worn around the neck. This is important for safety and security purposes.

This policy is outlined in our Parent/Student Handbook (pg. 84):

Learners at Leadership Prep School will be given Trust Cards at the beginning of 5th grade. These cards are a visible symbol of our school’s culture of self-leadership, trust, respect, and responsibility. We expect each learner to be trustworthy, respectful of themselves and others, and responsible for their actions, belongings, and learning. Learners may forfeit their Trust Cards to staff members if they violate the school’s rules. Learners who do not have their trust card lose privileges in the building and in classrooms such as working in project workrooms or bringing a snack into class. In addition, student ID’s must be worn and visible at all times.

Failure to have a Student ID or trust card (unless the trust card was taken due to violation of school rules) is a dress code violation and will result in disciplinary action.

Our district follows "The Leader in Me" program that includes teaching the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. If you would like to learn more about what we are teaching your children, please use the form below to sign up for our parent training on April 27th from 1:00 - 3:00.

This training is free and will be held in the upstairs auditorium of the elementary building.

We will spend our time learning about the foundation of the 7 Habits as well as the principles included in each of them. The Career Readiness and Internship Program is a five-year initiative that allows students to explore their career interests while applying leadership skills and knowledge to real world situations.

Students will complete yearly requirements that help set them up for future success no matter what post-secondary life opportunities they pursue – mock interviews, job shadowing, internships, and practicums. Our program exceeds the expectations of area schools allowing your student to have opportunities that others may not have until after high school.

Recently, we partnered up with Going Merry, a free resource, to help you apply for scholarship by "bundling" them and sending one application to all. The Texas School Safety Center's Youth Preparedness Camp is the most engaging, fun, and effective experience in empowering youth to not only educate and inform their peers and community members about the importance of being prepared, but to serve as a key leader during an emergency!

How to Apply

School and community-based youth groups who want to attend camp MUST be in grades 9-12 and submit an application and video that showcases how coming to camp will create a culture of preparedness in their school and/or community. The deadline to apply and submit the video is April 19, 2023 by 12 p.m. CT. Applicants will be notified of their status by April 26, 2023 with next steps for registering, if selected.

We need help with our Parent Patrol!

This is a program for parents to be involved, show leadership and help us monitor the hallways. You are actively present, slightly intimidating, yet friendly and you get to wear a cool vest and have a Walkie Talkie!

The Pride Patrol is a welcome presence in the hallways, stairwells and lunchroom. Parents can greet students, build rapport, check for hall passes and monitor safety. The time commitment is minimal. Time slots are in 30-minute increments. Sign up for one or several!

We currently have Pride Patrol on Mondays and Fridays.

Steps to get started:

1. If you haven't already done so for this year, you will need to complete the yearly background check (this information is kept confidential) before serving (you don't hear back unless there is an issue)

Show up for your time slot(s) at the Secondary Front Office. You will need to check in with your ID. There will be a special place to get your Pride Patrol vest and Walkie Talkie.

Who is Saturday School for?

Students who have been identified as needing ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION (AI) and have been contacted by LPS prior to today.

• This means any student who needs hours toward their 30 Hours of tutoring for any STAAR subject they failed can come to Saturday AI School from 8:30 to 12:30.
• Remember, 30 hours of tutoring is needed for each STAAR subject a student fails.
• For students who failed more than one STAAR subject, Saturday School might be necessary for your student to complete their required number of tutoring hours for each subject.
• Students making up hours for TRUANCY have been contacted by LPS prior to today and may be able to attend Saturday School.

AI Saturday School is also a great resource for students who are struggling in a subject and need extra help prior to testing.

Students should be dropped off at the main front entrance of the school and check in with Ms. Ray at the front desk once they enter the building before reporting to their tutoring classroom. If you have any questions regarding AI Saturday School, please contact Loralea Ray at lray@lpsfrisco.com. Please be sure to reference your student’s name, grade, and subjects needed for tutoring in the email.

Our Varsity Basketball, Cheer, and Soccer teams have all won State Championships this year! Our students are awesome! Here is a way to help celebrate those championships with Leadership Prep School.

We have a BSN store with all three sports available for purchase (store closes 5/3/23). The soccer team is also offering a t-shirt option as a fundraiser. Details and ordering information can be found HERE.

The Varsity Girls' Soccer Team went to Round Rock Multisport Complex on Friday, April 14, for the State Semi's against Aristoi Academy of Katy, TX, where they won 8-0.

The girls played again at 9 am Saturday for the state championship, where they beat IDEA Toros out of Edinburg, Texas, 4-3, capping off the varsity program's first state championship!

The team would like to thank everyone for their support throughout the year!

We have events listed every Friday evening with Generations Hope from 5:30-8:30. More information is on the Helper Helper website/app!

The student volunteers in our program will assist the teacher and classroom helper in many invaluable ways. They can lead a fun group activity, assist with homework, play card games or board games with students, or give instructions for a craft project.

Student volunteers will supervise physical play time and make sure students are following rules and maintaining a culture of "treating others how we would like to be treated".

Any problems or issues will be reported to the Teacher or Helper, and are not to be dealt with by the Student Volunteer. Community service hours can be earned for volunteer time for your school or club (NHS, Lighthouse, scouts), and will look great on college applications.
