BCS District Update
Bronson Community Schools District Update
October 2024
Strategic Planning
Bronson Community Schools is launching a new initiative facilitated by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) to create a three- to five-year Strategic Plan. The process will include community and staff input events, data collection and other efforts to create a shared vision and goals for the future of the district and strategies to achieve them, all while using scarce public education resources in the most effective and efficient way.
Thank you to those who either attended community input sessions and/or completed the online survey. The next step in this process is a Strategic Planning Retreat in early-November to identify our vision, mission, and belief statements and set our big picture long-term goals as a district.

School Messenger Calls
School Messenger is the system we use to send out phone, email, and/or text messages to our students, families and staff. These are often referred to in our district as "robo calls".
Please know that these most often will come outside of the regular school day/school hours. If you receive a call or have a missed call from a BCS number, please wait to see if there is a voicemail that is left (School Messenger will leave a recording of the message) before you try returning the call.
Thank you!
Project Updates
We continue to make progress with projects throughout the district with finishing touches and final inspections on the food service and Ryan Restroom projects in the very-near future.
Additionally, we have received April of 2025 as a projected date for the new transformer for the Jr/Sr High HVAC project to be on-site. NOTE - this does not mean the system will be up and running at that time, there is work to complete with switching service over to the transformer and such. While that is much later than anticipated, the industry continues to experience much longer lead times.
Thank you again for your continued patience and flexibility with these projects. Additionally, a huge thank you goes out to our Food Service Director, Barb Yearling, and her team for making sure our kids are well-fed with the breakfast and lunch options we've had available for our students during the kitchen projects. We'll be sure to update our social media pages when everything is complete and fully functional. If you have questions regarding these projects, please reach out to Superintendent Wall using the contact information listed below.
Johnny's Markets Fundraisers
We appreciate the partnership we have with Johnny's Markets/Bronson Shell Station for the following fundraisers for Bronson Community Schools!
The Giving Pump
The Bronson Shell Station has designated and marked one pumping station (pumps 7 & 8) as "The Giving Pump" and will donate 1 cent/gallon of gas pumped on that pump back to Bronson Community Schools. This fundraiser runs until October 31st.

Last year, the Jr/Sr High School came in 2nd place in this challenge and received $1,000! We're participating again this year and appreciate your votes! Vote once a day from September 9 - October 18 at https://johnnysmarkets.com/school-spirit/
