Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and within the excitement you found time to relax.
I wanted to thank you all for finding your way through the snow and ice this week to school. I appreciate how hard it can be to navigate the roads and paths in this cold and frosty weather.
The children have made an excellent start back to school. I received a phone call on Tuesday from a member of the public wanting to share how well behaved and polite our children were at the swimming baths, in the same way a member of staff from another school made sure to tell our team how mature and well behaved the children were at young voices on Wednesday evening. At such events when excitement can take over, it fills me with pride that our children remember the core values of Carleton Park and show respect and excellence when representing the school.
We have a busy term ahead with various exciting activities and events planned to share our learning. Please check the Key Dates further below for the upcoming Inspire afternoons.
Take care,
Mrs Winter
Headteacher
NHS Pharmacy First Service
Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment? Accessing the service may mean that can help children feel better and back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service.
There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service.
Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply):
- Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- Infected insect bites and stings (aged 1 year and over)
- Sore throats (aged 5 years and over)
- Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women (aged 16 to 64 years)
- Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
Choir singing in town
The Children's Society would like to say a big thankyou to Carleton Park and our school choir for taking part in the Carol singing in town. The event raised a magnificent £711.50 which will be used to help some of the country's most vulnerable children and families.
