i Ready Mid-Year:
The window for students to take the Mid-Year i Ready assessment (Math & Reading) is from November 25-December 13th. Please ask your student's teacher for a specific date. Teachers use this information to help plan how students are progressing academically and if anyone needs a little more support in a specific area.

A few students at Quest will be taking the English proficiency assessment (ACCESS) in January. The window for this will be from January 13 - February 14th.

School Reminders
Birthday Celebrations...
We love to celebrate your children and the day they were born, but we do have many students with food allergies that are contained in the usual celebratory food options like cupcakes and cookies.
In order to make sure all our students can partake in your child's celebratory day, please consider other ways to celebrate your child's special day with their classmates. Click on the picture for idea options on other ways to share in the celebration of your child's birthday..
Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Prospective Student Family - Mentors Needed!
Our application window has opened for families to apply. We would like to offer the opportunity for prospective families to get support from families already attending Quest. We especially need families who speak another language. You would help guide them through the application process, advise and just make sure their paperwork is in order. If you are interested, willing and able to mentor a family applying to Quest, please reach out to Mr. Adams so he can get things organized.
Pertussis update and alert: So far this this year Colorado has had more than 600 confirmed
cases of pertussis (whooping cough) compared to 203 in 2023 with the highest impact in school.
Pertussis is highly contagious with symptoms including a βwhoopβ like cough. Vaccination is
strongly recommended.
Measles update: The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO)
reported a greater than 20% increase in measles cases worldwide. Of the cases around 107,000
persons died, mostly young persons. Measles is essentially preventable through vaccination.
One dose is 93% effective, and two doses is 97% effective. Since the pandemic routine
vaccination numbers have dropped with kindergarten being below the federal target the past four
years. Colorado mandates immunizations for children in public schools. Measles is a serious
contagious disease that can lead to death. Unimmunized children will be excluded from
childcare and school for 21 days after the last case of measles. If you have questions about
immunizations, please contact me. Measles is not just a rash.
E coli. If you have purchased baby carrots in the last few weeks, please throw them away or
return them to the original store. Then, clean the area the carrots were stored. There is an
increasing outbreak of E coli associated with consumption of baby carrots.
Vaccination/Immunization update: I will be uploading the Quest immunization report by
December 1 st . Thank you to all the parents/guardians who sent updated records. Currently Quest
has a 98.4% vaccination/immunization rate (vaccinated students) and a 99.7% response rate
(exemptions and non-vaccinated). If there is an outbreak of a disease that is preventable by
vaccination/immunization all unvaccinated students will be excluded from attending school per
APS policy. Depending on the disease, exclusion can range from 6-21 days with an additional 6-
21 days of the student contracts the disease.
Please check backpacks, email, voice messages, and Talking Points for messages about vision or
hearing results.
The dry cold weather increased the risk of nosebleeds. Using humidifiers is very helpful.
Please let me know if you have questions.

PTA will be hosting a silent auction and would LOVE to support and feature our local community. If you own a small business or know someone that does and would be interested in donating please pass along the info so we can show the necessary tax ID info. We will be needing volunteers to help oversee parts of the event in half hour increments so we can all be sure to enjoy. auroraquestpta@gmail.com
Phoenix Feathers:
This year we have decided to create a golden feather to celebrate our teachers and staff. If you or your student would like to buy a feather for a staff member they will be $5 and can be purchased at any event we are at as well as on the school website under PTA. Yearly our PTA spends a starting average of $60 per student to provide all or part of your signature learning experiences at Quest. This includes fieldtrips, student enrichment, and
transportation to name a few. By purchasing a feather for $60 you help chip away at our BIG goal.
