Students of the Week
Below are the students recognized this week for demonstrating positive character by staff. Great job students, we are proud of you!
Spelling Bee Winner
We had many tremendous spellers particiapte in the recent bee. Students won their classroom competition then competed in the schoolwide event. Our winner is 6th grader Lena Cromer. She will now move on the SJCSD competition taking place on January 8th at FCTC. Congratualtions to Lena and all participants. We are proud of you😊
Books, Bingo, and Bravado!
Thursday, November 21 is National Parent Involvement Day. To celebrate, we invite each of you to a family event here at GRMS. We will begin at 5:30 pm by enjoying a choir performance in the auditorium (Bravado). Afterwards, we will enjoy bingo in the library (hopefully we will need to use the cafeteria). Prizes will be book/reading related. Snacks will be provided. Come and enjoy with your student 😊 Please RSVP to Mrs. Penn, email on the flyer below. No need to RSVP if attending only to enjoy the choir.
Honor Roll Addition
After a needed grade change, sixth grader Chase Seguin has made the A/B honor roll. Great job Chase!
Curriculum Corner
Civics classes have been studying the US Constitution, not a big surprise. Specifically, they have recently been focusing on the Bill of Rights. Several students put together this short video to summarize the freedoms provided for citizens by the first 10 amendments of the US Constitution, often referred to as the Bill of Rights. Great job students! Bill of Rights on Vimeo
Interim Grades
Interim grades went live in HAC at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Please take a look at how your student is progressing this quarter. As we move clsoer to the end of the semester, we would love for your student to exceed your expectations by performing their very best. At the minimum, passing each core content course (Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science) will result in them not needing to make up a class by taking it online. As we all found out in recent years, online classes can be challenging to complete successfully. NOTE: If you are unable to access HAC, you should email our compuer operator, Mrs. Greve, and she will likley be able to assist. Her email is: lisa.greve@stjohns.k12.fl.us
GRMS News Crew
We have a class where students create news about our school. You can find the programs at the link here, which will not change: https://vimeo.com/showcase/9790037.
Enjoy!

D(b)ad Joke(s) of the Week
I'm thinking of having my ashes stored in a glass urn. Remains to be seen.
My son got angry when I said, "The sky is the limit for you." Apparently he wants to be an astronaut.
I told my boss three companies were after me and I needed a raise to stay at my job. We haggled for a few minutes, and he gave me a 5% raise. As we were leaving his office, he stopped and asked me, "By the way, which companies were after you?" I replied, "The gas, electric, and phone companies."
What happens when it rains cats and dogs? You have to be careful not to step in a poodle.
Bro, can you pass me that pamphlet? Brochure.
