A Message from the Principal
What an awesome week it has been! Thank you to the families who participated in our Veterans Day assembly. It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about the sacrifices made by our veterans, and we couldn’t have done it without your involvement. I also want to extend my deepest appreciation for those who attended our Thanksgiving Lunch. We are so thankful for you!
If you need me, please do not hesitate to reach out

Reminder: The Importance of Students Arriving on Time
Parents and Guardians,
We want to reiterate the importance of students arriving at school on time. Our school doors open at 7:25 AM, giving students a chance to settle in before the day begins and have breakfast if they choose to. School officially starts at 7:55 AM—students who arrive after this time risk missing important instructions and the beginning of lessons, which can impact their learning. To ensure your child is ready to start the day on the right foot, please aim for an arrival time of 7:25 AM or earlier. This will help them feel prepared and engaged when class begins.
Thank you for your continued support in making sure all our students are ready for a successful day!
Important Information
Morning Drop-Off
You may have noticed our security guard directing traffic to help address congestion concerns. To keep things running smoothly and in accordance with city ordinances, please note that left turns are not permitted into any of our lot entrances.
To enter the front lot safely, here are a few options:
- If you’re coming from Horseman Drive: Please turn right onto Speckle Drive and follow it around; it will lead you back to Canchim Drive, where you can turn right into our front entrance.
- Alternate Route: Turn left onto Bernese Drive. This road will take you past our rear entry toward the front, allowing you to make a safe right turn onto Canchim Drive and into our lot.
- Please avoid making U-turns in neighborhood driveways past our front entrance, as this creates additional delays. If you happen to miss the turn onto Speckle Drive, please continue to the end of the street, turn right, and follow through the neighborhood, where you can pull straight into our lot.
Instructional Tours
Has it been a while since you've been in school? Well, things have definitely changed, for the BETTER! Sunset Valley is opening our doors for parents, guardians and community members to experience a little bit of what our students get to do each day. Our teachers are amazing and we want to show off what they do each day. Please stay tuned for an Instructional Tours Interest Form coming soon (most likely in mid-January). Want more information? Email me at roby.nunn@kellerisd.net
