Windsor Teacher and Staff Appreciation
Everyone appreciated the thoughtful notes and messages. The Starbuck's gift cards were a wonderful surprise to help keep everyone going! And, the special video brought tears to many of our eyes.
We appreciate our Windsor community.
Way to Give Back
We have had families reach out wondering if there are specific ways they can help our school community. We continue to encourage everyone to frequent local businesses, as they employ a great number of our parents. Also, we know several of our families are accessing community resources. Here is one way to help those affected by the pandemic for those interested.

Windsor PTA News
In an effort to streamline meetings, we will hold **only one more PTA meeting** for the school year. We will combine our typical April Election meeting with our May meeting and will meet on Tues, May 12th @ 7 PM* (time is subject to change) for one last meeting this school year. *Please note the start time may change to better fit our members' schedules.
Therefore our May meeting will be both a General Membership and Board (Committee Chairs) meeting. Membership will Elect PTA Officers for the 2020-2021 school year (click to view ’20-’21 slate) and our Board will wrap up year-end activities and vote in our Audit Committee. It is important to hold this last meeting as Audit Committee work begins after June 30 and officer terms begin July 1.
It is important that General Members as well as Committee Chairs attend, so please join us on Tuesday, May 12th for our Election and last PTA meeting of the year!
This year has ended in an unusual way, but the strength and dedication of our Windsor community remains strong. The Executive Committee (officers) thank you for your continued support and dedication to PTA as our non-profit organization continues the PTA mission of focusing on every child. Thank you to all for joining together to support one another and the PTA mission at Windsor.
We invite you to reach out to any current officer or directly to Heather with any questions or concerns at president@windosrpta.org.
Stay well everyone!
Sincerely, Heather Lepold (’19-’20 President) on behalf of the ’19-’20 Executive Committee

WTTW Announces New Educational Series
WTTW Announces New Educational Series: Stay Home. Hit Play.
In an effort to provide you with positive, non-legal coronavirus disease (COVID-19) news, we are delighted to share with you a new series launching on WTTW titled Stay Home. Hit Play.
WTTW is partnering with Mayor Lori Lightfoot (link) to provide programming that will open the doors to the city’s museums and cultural institutions to students and families staying at home across the city, offering “virtual field trips” behind the scenes. In the first episode, Mayor Lightfoot heads to the Shedd Aquarium to visit the penguins, feed the sharks, and say hello to “Nickel,” the rescued sea turtle.
WTTW will air the series twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays, with the first episode on Friday, May 1 at 5:30 pm on WTTW (11.1) and on Monday, May 4 at 12:30 pm on WTTW Prime (11.2). WTTW will also stream all episodes on wttw.com/watch.
Franczek P.C. has the privilege of representing the City of Chicago and WTTW. It is our hope that this series provides a little joy in this otherwise uncertain and difficult time.

As the Illinois stay at home and school closing order came through on Friday, we just want to highlight the above page once more for families. It contains a number of different local and state resources.
Additionally, the Illinois Department of Human Services launched a free emotional support text line for Illinoisans experiencing stress related to COVID-19: Call4Calm. This isn’t a crisis hotline, but a source of support. If you want to speak to a counselor, text TALK to 552020, or HABLAR for Spanish speakers.
You can also access a wider array of supports using the same number on your mobile phone. Text 552020 with keywords such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” to receive information to help you navigate getting assistance.
