Riverdale Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
ESE Students and Riverdale Preschool Families follow different arrival and dismissal procedures.
All other K-8 students follow the procedures below. Please help us safely ensure the arrival and dismissal of over 1,100 students by following all procedures!
Arrival
No parking on campus unless you have a scheduled meeting. The building opens at 8:00am. Students wait in the cafe until 8:15 then proceed to classrooms. If using the car rider line please pull all the way forward until the cars stop before your child exits the car. This allows us to get our students to class quickly and safely!
Beginning Monday, August 19, all students will walk themselves to class. We have lots of adults helping students find their way in the building upon arrival.
Dismissal
No Parking on Campus!
Car Riders:
Car riders are dismissed from GYM A. Students sit quietly and listen for their name. Cars pull all the way to the front of the line to wait for car riders. If your child does not come out by the time you reach the front of the line, please pull around to the side lot to help us keep the line safely moving. Teachers will radio for your child again and we will walk them to you in the side lot. Remind your children to listen for their names . Students cannot be picked up from the office, lobby or Gym A. All cars in the line need a car tag. Click here if you need a car tag.
Bus Riders:
Please contact Durham's General Manager & Regional Manager to express our many concerns regarding late buses.

Important New Health Consent Form for GMSD Families:
To ensure we can provide the best care for our students, we need your assistance with a new requirement. Due to recent Tennessee legislation, all students must have a completed health consent form on file to receive services from our nursing staff. This includes basic first aid care (ice packs, band aids, alcohol wipes, insect sting relief), splints, and any other minor health-related tasks.
Please log in to your Skyward Family Access Portal to fill out this form. It will appear as a pop-up on your homepage. We kindly ask that you complete and submit the form by August 16th.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
