Welcome to the NEW Calhoun Middle School - an IB World School
Dear Teachers, Students, and Families,
We're thrilled to welcome you back to school and to our brand-new building and campus! This year, we're not just stepping into a new space—we're also embracing our new identity with an unfamiliar school mascot and school color. It's an exciting time for all of us as we come together to celebrate these changes and the energy they bring to our school community. Calhoun Colts on Crescent is definitely a new and cool vibe.
As we settle in and start this exciting journey, we encourage everyone to join PTA. You don't have to volunteer. We want you to be part of the school community and be in the loop. Subscribe to this newsletter and follow us on social media. The PTA has always been a support for our students and staff by organizing events and providing a treat here and there to our dedicated teachers and staff. We invite you to join us in making this year one to remember. Here's to a marvelous year!
Warmly,
Lilliana Wright

TEACHER BACK TO SCHOOL LUNCHEON
Calhoun Middle School staff is racing to unpack and set up their new classrooms so the PTA wants to provide lunch while they prepare.
We are gathering items to lay out a Build-Your-Own Sandwich Bar on the day before school starts. Check out what's needed and see if you can contribute anything!
Items will be accepted in the school’s front office on Monday, Aug 5, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
If you prefer to make a monetary contribution, the PTA will use the funds to purchase the necessary lunch items.
You can easily donate online here
Your support is greatly appreciated!

Back-to-School Advice for Students
As we get ready to kick off a new school year, here are a few tips to help you start strong:
Get Organized: Make sure you have all your school supplies ready. Use a planner or digital calendar to keep track of your classes, assignments, and extracurricular activities.
Set Goals: Think about what you want to achieve this year, whether it's improving grades, making new friends, or joining a club. Setting clear goals can help you stay focused and motivated.
Establish a Routine: Getting back into a regular routine can make the transition easier. Start going to bed and waking up at consistent times to adjust to the school schedule.
Stay Positive: A positive attitude can make a big difference. Remember that challenges are opportunities to learn and grow. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
Get Involved: Participate in school activities and clubs. It's a great way to meet new people, explore interests, and make the most of your school experience.
Best of luck, and let's make this year a great one! Giddy Up!

THANK YOU!
Thank you to all those volunteers that have helped get our teachers and staff ready for the first day of school! Special shout out to our wonderful administrators, Ms. San Miguel, Mr. Milmo, Mr. Curtis, and Mrs. Smerdon, our terrific school secretary for getting it together under these unusual circumstances. We appreciate you!👏👏👏👏
