• We hope that all of our Reams families enjoyed the Thanksgiving break! We are looking forward to the next four weeks with our Reams Rams as we continue to focus on academics and building skills. This is a great time to set goals with your student, especially in Lexia and Dreambox, and in helping others during the upcoming holiday season.
• Can you believe that Wednesday will be the 70th day of school? We will have some fun and have a Spirit Day to dress as if from the 1970s. So, find those old family photos to get some ideas! I remember the 1970s because that's when I was in elementary school!
• We are looking forward to our Penguin Patch Holiday Shop and encourage families to allow students to earn spending money by doing chores.
• Our first Principal Coffee Chat of the year is this Tuesday! Look for more information below.
• Our All In tutor coaches will be contacting parents soon to share information about what selected students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade should be doing in Lexia and Dreambox. Please reach out to Morgan Pilkington, our Instructional Designer, if you have questions.
• Our school website will be updated soon! Keep an eye out for it!
• I apologize for repeat pictures in this newsletter as the week was short and I took some vacation days. Look for new pictures next week!

• As of this week, we are averaging 87% in student attendance. This means we need to continue to see our students in school to increase this rate to an average of 90%. 73 students were absent on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and 40 were absent on Monday.
• We know this upcoming week will be much better! We will begin sharing grade level attendance percentages to see which grade level is the highest.

• Last year, parents, staff, and students (grades 3-12) took the NASSP Building Ranks Survey about our school’s culture. From November 27 through December 8, 2023, CCPS will once again be giving the Building Ranks survey to parents, staff, students (grades 3-12), and community partners. We look forward to continuing to partner with you in improving our school culture.

• 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will complete this survey during STEAM.

• As a reminder, we are working on retaining staff and increasing student time on task based on information from last year's survey.

• We would love to have parents join us for our first Parent Coffee Chat of the year. Check out the flyer and join us on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
• The focus will be our Promote Respect presentation with our school counselors.

• Do you love cereal? Do you love dominoes? If you said YES to either of these we need your help because it’s time for the 3rd annual Reams Road Cereal Domino Course!
  

• Please donate unopened full sized boxes of cereal that we can use to set up our cereal dominoes course in our hallways. We need all cereal boxes by Thursday December 14th, 2023. After our course is done on December 19, all boxes of cereal will be donated to the Chesterfield Food Bank. Thanks for helping us be RAMS Strong!

• This endeavor is led by Ms. Neboshynsky's 4th grade CBG class. Check out the flyer too!

• Write your student's name on their jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, etc. The Lost and Found items are located in our front lobby. Stop by before it gets too cold to see if anything belongs to your student.
  
• Please stay in the car line and follow the path which is turn into the school, left into the parking lot, and through the middle of the lot until the loop. Everyone has somewhere to be and we all need to be patient.
• Did you know that a good night's sleep of 8 hours or more helps our brains learn and grow? Please make sure your student sleeps well!

PTA Staff Holiday Luncheon

• P.T.A. will co-sponsor a holiday luncheon for the Reams staff on December 5, 2023. P.T.A. will provide the entree and donations will be needed for desserts and drinks. Please see the Sign Up Genius to donate. Thank you!

PTA Meeting:

• Our next P.T.A. meeting is on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be virtual. Please reach out to the P.T.A. if you are interested in joining the meeting. The link will be available on the Reams School Calendar and will be emailed to those interested in joining.

• Reams P.T.A. will host the Penguin Patch holiday shopping opportunity the week of December 11th with a Santa Breakfast finishing out the week on Saturday, December 16.
• This is a great chance for students to start earning money for completing chores at home.
• There will be a need for parent volunteers to help with Penguin Patch. Please email Reamspta@gmail.com if you are interested in helping. A Sign Up Genius is also available.

• The Providence Athletic Association is happy to announce that it's time for our 2023 Basketball season to begin!
