Need to Know
Parent-Student-Teacher virtual conferences continue tonight until 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. If you were unable to arrange a meeting for whatever reason, you may contact teachers and make arrangements to meet at a later date. Students are expected to attend the meetings with their parents. For any issues with your bookings or Google Meet links, please contact Ms. Beech or Ms. Poulin.
Message from the Headmaster: The Important Dates document for the 2025-2026 school year is attached. Within this document, you will find a week in November when no academic classes are scheduled. We have maintained the same format as last year due to its overwhelming success. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Beech or Mr. Lajoie.
Congratulations MS Scholars! Several students took part in the Scholastic Challenge practice test, showing their curiosity for knowledge and enthusiastic spirit! Congratulations to Adi Raisman and Oliver Sierra Veilleux who earned the top score! Despite technical challenges, some Grade 8 students successfully participated in the national online challenge earlier this week. Results will be shared later this spring.
Gryphon News: Come out on Friday night to see the CSSHL Gryphons team play their final regular season home game! The action starts at 7:30 PM at the Westmount Recreation Centre. The team is holding a special Senior Night to highlight the sportsmanship of our Grade 12 players. Spread the word and we hope to see you there! Go Gryphons!
Social Media Presentation for Parents and Students: On behalf of the Loyola Mothers' Guild, you are invited to a one-hour presentation by Dr. Alissa Sklar on the topic of Cell Phones, Sexting & Social Media: What Parents & Kids Need to Know. Held at the Eric Maclean SJ, Center for the Performing Arts (2477 West Broadway, Montreal, Quebec H4B1R2) on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, 7-8pm, followed by refreshments. The presentation is free to attend! Children from the age of 12 are welcome (and encouraged) to attend with their parents! Registration is required. Please RSVP here. We invite you to fill out a survey with any questions you have for our speaker before the presentation. Dr. Sklar will share practical strategies for parents to assist their children in using digital technologies safely, creatively, and responsibly.

March Break Basketball Camp at SHS: Coaches Marty Boyle and Jon Merritt are excited to offer our March Break Basketball Camp for students in Grades 3-8. Monday March 3 to Thursday March 6 from 9:00-11:00am in the Speirs Gym. Cost is $150. Players will work on skills, play games, and have fun. If you would like to attend please contact Jon Merritt at merrittj@selwyn.ca.

Save the Date! Red Cross Babysitting Course: This certification course will be held at ECS on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 8:30am-4:00pm. Grade 7-9 students from ECS and SHS will learn first aid skills, leadership and professional conduct for use in any capacity (babysitting, day camps, sports teams, etc.).
