Thank You Veterans
THANK YOU to all of the Veterans that have chosen to serve our great nation and defend our freedoms. We appreciate all that you do and have done to protect and defend the freedoms that so many take for granted. We hosted our Veterans Day assembly last Thursday at school and to quote C.B., a fifth-grade student of ours, from the speech he presented at the assembly, "In my opinion, we should honor veterans because they fought for our freedom. They put their lives in danger to protect us from harm. So if putting your life in danger doesn’t get you a day of thanks I don’t know what will get you a day of thanks. So the next time you see a veteran, tell them thank you for serving for our country’s forces." Out of the mouth of babes, couldn't have said it better myself. THANK YOU for your service.

JBE 4th Grade Great United States Parade 11.15.24
You are invited to join us for the JBE 4th Grade Great States Parade on Friday, November 15th from 2:15-3:15 in the JBE Cafeteria.
Our fourth-grade students have been working hard to create a "float" out of a shoe box that they will have on display. It's actually the opposite of a parade because the floats are still and you move, but the students are researching their state and creating a display to teach you about what they have learned. You are welcome to come see their hard work on display.
Thanksgiving Break is Drawing Near - We have Monday School (Wednesday Specials)

Attendance is Important
Thank You for helping us meet our goal in August and September of keeping our building attendance above 95%. As a building we are trying to help students understand the importance of their attendance and have emphasized it in their Data Folders as well as on light up boards in the front window and in the hallway outside the office! Thank you for helping get your student to school healthy and ready to learn!
August Attendance - 96.73%
September Attendance - 96.2%
October Attendance - 95.10%
Please make sure that you call in (833-662-6228 press 5 then press 1) prior to 8:30 if your child is going to be absent so that we can record the reason before we begin making contact. If communication is not received in regard to student absences a few things may happen.
- If your student is arriving after 8am, please come into the office and sign them in. Please be aware that students arrive late are recorded as Late in our student information system and that time counts against their daily attendance.
- You will receive an automated message letting you know your student is absent. (We have a new system and are still working out the kinks. Please call us immediately if you believe the message is inaccurate.)
- You may receive a personal call from our office staff.
- You may receive a visit from Deputy Ault, our SRO, or Kylee Waite, our MCR2 Social Worker.
- You will receive our 3-day, 5-day and 8-day attendance letters regardless of calling in. These letters are board policy and are sent to all student families when they hit the 3, 5, & 8 day threshold.
- As a building we are striving to be higher than a 95% average EACH MONTH.

JBE Mood Meter
Throughout the year, we will be implementing the JBE Mood Meter as a way for students to help identify their emotion/what they are feeling. There are many studies that show the importance of being able to name how you are feeling. It is our goal to help our students find words to express how they are feeling and to enforce that it is ok to have whatever emotion they have, but also that we are still responsible for our actions and our words. If they mention they are feeling a certain color, this could be what they are communicating to you. Check out the image below. We will support this goal through modeling at morning assembly, throughout the day in class and in our counseling classes. If you have questions, please reach out.
Clothes & Shoes recycling Bin at JBE
We have partnered with USAgain to collect clothes and shoes. This company will pay us 2 cents for every pound collected and will plant a tree (somewhere, not on our property) for every full bin. The bins are located on the southwest corner of our building. We will start spreading the word to the community soon and hope it will help the earth and raise a bit of money for our donation account.
