Birthday Treat Reminders
If a parent wishes to send treats to school for his/her child’s birthday celebration, that parent must notify the child’s teacher at least one week in advance. ALL food items must be store-bought and include a list of ingredients due to numerous food allergies.
BE in the Know with Harmony
If you would like daily or weekly updates on school attendance, lunch accounts, grades and school discipline then sign up through Harmony. Log in to Harmony and select the menu tab, scroll down to notifications profile, set your profile settings as desired, then save your updates.
Our grading practice allows students to reassess if they get below a 70% on an assessment. The teachers will reteach and offer a retest. The grade can be replaced up to a max score of 80%. If a student did not put forth effort, refused or rushed then they can be given an option to redo the assessment without reteaching occurring. We also enter a 50% as the lowest grade to make sure that scores are not deflated from one grade.
Counseling Corner
Happy 3rd Quarter Eagle Families!
Over the next several weeks, we will be focusing on the third component of our Eagle Pledge:
Good Citizenship. This is such a fun topic to teach because there is SO much that encompasses displaying good citizenship.
Students have begun learning that citizenship relates to our "character" and "what kind of person we are." We discussed several character traits that we feel make us GOOD EAGLES: showing respect, being honest, helping others, being kind & caring, and including/accepting others.
This week, we dove specifically into 'Diversity' and how that relates to having good citizenship. Grade levels read stories such as, "The Crayon Box that Talked," "Chrysanthemum," and "The Judgmental Flower," while discussing the importance of accepting differences and celebrating the unique things that make each person special!
As always, please encourage your children to talk with you about what they are learning in guidance! If you are ever interested in extension activities or other books related to our lesson topics, please don't hesitate to ask! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out!
