Union Center Elementary School

We had a great first two weeks of school! I appreciate all families of our bus riders for their patience with buses. The beginning of the year brought new routes, some new bus drivers, and of course new students who were unfamiliar with procedures. Things are improving slowly but surely! We also appreciate all of our parents helping our students come in and out safely, meeting the teachers, dropping off supplies, and communicating with the office for your needs.

Next week will be our first PTO meeting of the year! It will be on Tuesday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. in our cafeteria. We hope to see you there!

I'm so excited to join the UCE staff as a permanent member this year! My name is Mandy Gottshall, and I was born and raised in Bedford, Pennsylvania. I'm married to my amazing husband, Ben, and together we have 5 awesome kiddos: Mason (21), Noah (19), Caleb (18), Christian (15) and Hazel (9). I was in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 11 years and have been a civilian nurse for almost 5 years. I attended Altoona Career & Technology Center. I'm a huge Penn State and Steelers fan. I'm coming to UCE from working in the Emergency Room at a local hospital. I spend most of my free time running around our kids with football, ice hockey, gymnastics, and softball.

If you are sending in lunch money with your child, we ask that you please place it in an envelope with your child's first and last name on it. We are having some students coming for breakfast in the morning and dropping off money. We want to make sure money gets in the proper account, so putting them in an envelope with a name will make this much easier. Thank you for your assistance with this!

You can access Mealtime to upload funds or drop off money to the UCE office. Checks need to be made out to Union Center Elementary School and in the memo put your child(ren)'s names.

Students who purchase lunch at school need to have funds in their lunch account. You can set up a Mealtime account https://www.mymealtime.com/ with your child's 100 or 200 number. You can find this number on Harmony. It is not the Student ID number, but their account number. If you need assistance just call the office or email Mrs. Roberts at mroberts@union.k12.in.us and she can send it to you for easy copy and paste.
