Clyde Erwin Elementary School
Dr. Patterson's Weekly Update
Eagle Pride: Video by Dr. Patterson
October 27, 2019
Good afternoon Eagles!
We had another fantastic week at Clyde Erwin! We have a few fun events coming up this week including our storybook character dress-up day, PBIS Celebration, and Red Ribbon Week. Additionally, students who sold at least 5 pizza kits during our Little Caesars Fundraiser will be duct taping Mr. Ron and Dr. Patterson to the wall on Friday. We are excited about another fun week!
We have an important reminder for parents regarding picking up students from school. When checking out a student or picking up a student at dismissal, a 2019-2020 student pick-up card is required, or you must present your identification. This protocol is for student safety, and it is clearly stated in the 2019-2020 student handbook. The "Check-in and Check-out" section of the handbook states as follows "No student will be released from school without proper identification of the adult checking the child out from school." Additionally, the "Drop-off and Pick-up" section of the student handbook states as follows " Parents picking up students in the back parking lot or media center must present the pick-up card. If the pick-up card is not presented, the parent will be directed to the front office to present valid identification." Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.
Red Ribbon Week Canned Food Drive
We are holding a canned food drive during Red Ribbon Week, October 28-November 1, 2019. The non-perishable food items collected during this week benefit the United Way CHEW Program. The CHEW Program directly benefits students in our school. All students who donate a food item during the week will be allowed to dress down on Friday, November 1. Thank you for your support of the United Way CHEW Program!
Storybook Character Dress-Up Day
We have our annual Storybook Character Dress-Up Day this Thursday, October 31, 2019. As you are preparing for this fun day, we just want to remind parents that there should be no scary costumes. The cost for Storybook Character Dress-Up Day is $2.00, and all proceeds benefit extracurricular clubs at Clyde Erwin.
Make-up Days
We have one additional make-up day due to time missed during Hurricane Dorian. Students will also attend school on Friday, January 3, 2020, which was a teacher workday and is now a student day. Please make adjustments to your calendars.
Free and Reduced Meals
If you are interested in applying for free and reduced meals for the 2019-2020 school year, please get the application submitted ASAP.
