New Field ES Summer Updates

Dear New Field families,

School Year 2024-2025 is one month away! We are thrilled to welcome you back to school on Monday, August 26. Here are a few important updates and reminders to help you prepare for the year ahead.

• New Field summer programming ends on Friday, July 26.
• Our main office will be closed July 29-August 2, 2024
• Our main office reopens on Monday, August 5.
• Enrollment hours continue Monday, August 5 - 16 from 9:00 - 12:00 PM
• Classroom assignments will be emailed to families between Wednesday, August 7 - Friday, August 16. These will be shared on a rolling basis. Please keep in mind that teachers remain on summer vacation until Monday, August 19.
• Popsicles with the Principal and new family orientation is Friday, August 23
• PK and Kindergarten will host additional orientation & open house for families.
• School starts on Monday, August 26!

We hope you continue to enjoy your summer vacation - continue reading, exploring and finding learning opportunities beyond classroom walls this summer. There is a huge, incredible world at our doorstep, waiting to be explored. Here are a few great ways you can explore this world-class city we call home:

• Summer Reading Challenge and programming at Chicago Libraries
• Free Museum Days at Chicago museums
• Movies in the Parks 2024
• Grant Park Music Festival 2024

• Free events around this city (Chicago Magazine curated)

Set your child up for success in elementary school and beyond! New Field still has space available for Preschool in 2024-2025. Be sure to submit your application as soon as possible - space is limited!

New Field full-day Pre-K programs serve 4 year olds only. A child is considered age 4 if they turn 4 years old on or before 9/1/2024.

New Field hosts Healthy Student Market in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

All New Field and Eugene Field families are eligible for free, healthy groceries - including fresh fruits and vegetables.

Our Healthy Student Market is Thursday, July 25 from 12:30 - 1:30 PM.

Families should bring a reusable bag. Expect food to weigh up to 30 pounds.

Mark your calendars and save the date for our far Northside schools Network 2 Back to School Bash!

Thursday, July 25 from 1:00- 5:00 at Winnemac Park {Corner of Foster& Damen}

Free games, food and fun activities for the family! School give aways, raffle prizes and more!

New Field is proud to serve as a summer meal stop site! All children ages 18 and younger are eligible for free meals every day at New Field, through Friday, July 26. Come by between 10:30 - 12:30 for free, nutritious meals. Meals are for children only and must be eaten on site.

UPDATE --- CPS Nutrition Services Department is ending programming at an earlier date due to low attendance totals.
