Mr. Bock, our school counselor, has planned a mindful and fun mental health week for our Clearspring Community. We hope that you can help your students participate in each spirit day and even join us Monday, October 7th at on the blacktop @ 6:00 for some Family Zumba!

MCPS provides a school year calendar that allows for effective use of time for teaching and learning, professional growth opportunities, and planning instructional strategies focused on improving student achievement while maintaining an equity lens for all students, and commitment to community engagement. We will consider educational interests, operational needs, mandated school closures by state law, compliance with minimum instructional days and credit hour requirements, contingencies for inclement weather and other emergencies, staff professional days and early release days, and alignment with assessment schedules.

MCPS is seeking input about the 2025–2026 school year calendar! Please take a moment to complete the MCPS School Calendar Feedback Survey. Your input will be used to select the first and last day of school, as well as other important dates for the coming school year.

National Walk and Roll to School Day is Wednesday, October 9, 2024. This day is dedicated to expanding safe routes to schools and is directly related to Montgomery County’s Vision Zero goals to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries. It also creates sustainable and healthy habits among our youngest transportation users and their families, building more environmentally conscious communities for a healthy planet.

We know Clearspring's location is not accessible by many sidewalks so we ask, if you're not able to walk or roll to school by sidewalk to please join us in spirit ;) and we can do some laps together around the field during recess!

MCPS offers families a free student Chromebook for home use. Families can fill out a form and, once approved by MCPS, devices are sent to our school to send home with students.

Families can use MCPS online resources at home by logging into the Clever dashboard on any device. Click here (https://tinyurl.com/mcpsClever) and then log in with your students' Chromebook ID and password to get to all the resources.

The DHS Drama Club is hosting a screening of Coco in the DHS Auditorium on Friday, October 11th. Doors open at 5:30pm, and the film will start at 6pm. Admission is free; however, donations to benefit the performing arts at Damascus HS will gladly be accepted. All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The presentation will end by 8:15 and students are required to have rides waiting at that time. Please email Mr. Kachadorian at Steven_R_Kachadorian@mcpsmd.org with any questions.

We just updated our membership drive percentages and the top 2 classes are Ms. Bizzell and Ms. Cooper. Please remember the the top 2 classes with the highest percentage of memberships get a pizza party and the top class from each grade level gets a popsicle party. Please consider registering below.
