Huntsville City Schools seniors will have the opportunity to participate in Alabama College Application Week, October 7-11 2024. During this week, high school seniors in Alabama can apply to participating colleges for free. See the list below for participating colleges and their waiver codes.

Local Scholarship List

Local scholarships opportunities are published for students as they are received from businesses and organizations in the community. Check frequently as the list will continue to grow throughout the school year. Generally, local scholarship opportunities are limited to 12th grade students. Scholarships are also shared to students through their Class of 2025 Schoology Group.

All transcript requests will be made through Scoir. See below for instructions!

Reminder, do not request your transcript until AFTER you have applied to the college.

FAFSA Updates

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the Class of 2025 to use for their 1st year of college (2025-2026 FAFSA) is scheduled for a full opening on December 1, 2024. The November Parent Information Session will cover FAFSA completion!

Junior College Planning Meetings

Your College Counselor is available to help at any stage! Send a schoology message or email to request a time to talk. Junior students and parents will have the opportunity to set up appointments with their college counselor in late winter/early spring through a SignUp Genius link. Links provided in College Counseling email.

Bama In Your Town - Huntsville Engineering Edition

Come spend an evening with The University of Alabama's College of Engineering! All seven of the College of Engineering departments will be represented by administrators, faculty and current students who are eager to showcase and talk about the exciting projects and research that are happening in hands-on learning environments.

University of South Alabama - Early Acceptance Programs

USA is continuing to offer Early Acceptance to several competitive post-graduate programs; if selected, students are guaranteed a seat in these programs upon attending USA and completing graduation requirements. These include the College of Medicine, Auburn Harrison School of Pharmacy at USA, Physical Therapy, and Psychology. The requirements for each can be found in the embedded link.

The most popular program is the College of Medicine Early Acceptance Program. The deadline for this program is December 15, 2024.

UAB Fall Preview Day for High School Studnts

UAB Day on October 19, 2024 is our preview day specifically for high school students. The day features a browsing fair of academic departments and student services, academic breakout sessions, special interest sessions, campus tours, and more. And most importantly a chance to speak with current UAB students!

Registration Deadline: Deadline to register for the October 19 UAB Day is Mon., October 14, 2024.
