Fun Fact: Created by John Bauer and Mark Summers, this holiday is the result of one of them getting injured during a racquetball game and yelling out "Arrrrr!!!!" The two decided it would be funny to have a whole day where everyone talked like pirates, and with the help of columnist Dave Barry, a new holiday was created. So come dressed in your pirate best and get working on your accent!

Screen Time and Kids
When considering how to manage screen time, think about how your child spends their time in general. Getting plenty of exercise and sleep, participating in family time and socializing with friends, is important for healthy growth and development. If your child is replacing sleep or quality family time with screen time that is a sign to scale back on screen time and start increasing healthy habits.
Here are two great resources from Let’s Go! 5210 and healthychildren.org. These resources can be used to help create healthy screen time habits for you and your children.
