A Celebration of The Triumph of Youth
Drive by Buell Stadium, and you will spot something new! Standing 33 feet wide and 25 feet tall, The Triumph of Youth is the most visible piece of public art in Millard. Its recent installation was the culmination of two years of visioning, planning and creation. It is a collaboration of more than fifty Millard Public School students and staff and members of the Millard community. Many of them came together Monday morning to celebrate the mural's completion. It was created by nationally recognized Omaha artist Watie White and stands at Buell Stadium at 149th and Q Streets. Dozens of people and stories are woven throughout the artwork, representing Millard's past, present and future.
The Triumph of Youth was privately funded through the generous support of the Millard Public Schools Foundation, Penny and Frank Kowol, Addie and Robert Hollingsworth, the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. We thank them for their investment in Millard Public Schools.
