PLAN AHEAD FOR DROP OFF AND DISMISSAL
FKAA started a project that will have rolling closures. Please make sure you give yourself enough time in the morning to drop off your student (s) and in the afternoon to pick them up. You may drop them off as early as 7:20am to make sure they arrive on time. Also, there may be some bus stops that will temporarily be out of service while a section is being worked on. Below is the message from FKAA:
Update: FKAA work to resume 3/9 at Tavernier Creek Bridge. A new traffic control plan has been approved by the Florida Department of Transportation, in coordination with the Monroe County School District, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Details at https://bit.ly/PlantationKeyProject

Sea Perch Penguin Team Wins!!!
SeaPerch in an innovative underwater robotics program that equips students with the resources they need to build an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) in their STEM class. All of the Middle Schools in Monroe county compete at Founder’s Park compete by driving their ROV’s through an obstacle course made of Hula hoops held by supports at different angles. The first team through the course wins.

A Special Night
It was an "Out of this World" night at PKS on Wednesday, April 16th. Parents came to school to see the awesome work students do in their Specials classrooms.

Special Assignment
Maya Banaszkiewicz, Tinsley Hammond and Madison Whitehead created this beautiful Curio with characters and objects from the book, "The Egypt Game" as part of a special assignment in Ms. Koche's Gifted class.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK K-2
Mila Schatzberg is the perfect first grade Student of the Week. She arrives to school with a smile on her face every day. She is positive and respectful to all her classmates. She is helpful, kind and always willing to work with others. She is a hard worker and is always on task. She is always ready to learn and gives 100% every day. Way to go Mila!!

Junior Erazo Anduray (5th)
Junior is a star student and represents many of our PBIS iBelieve expectations. He is always ready to learn and give 100% in the classroom. Junior is not only hard-working, but very kind and friendly. He is always willing to help others and keeps a positive attitude in and out of the classroom. Junior takes pride in his work and exemplifies what it means to be a PKS Panther. Keep up the great work, Junior!

Kimberly Carballo-Duarte – Kimberly Carballo-Duarte is our middle school Student of the Week! She consistently follows all I Believe expectations in her classes at PKS. Kimberly is always ready to learn, respectful, and responsible every day! She works hard to achieve the goals she sets for herself! Thanks for being a PAWSOME Panther, Kimberly!
