Principal Report:
Dear Waukazoo families,
This week we welcomed almost 40 Veterans to our assembly honoring them and their service. We recognized all branches of the military and thanked them for the sacrifices they have made for our country. It was a beautiful testament to those who served and an opportunity for our students to see the impact our Veterans make on our community of Holland and especially at Waukazoo. We are so thankful for our PTA who supports this assembly and the many teachers who give their time to make it so special. And a last thank you to the parents who created this year's Wall of Honor. We displayed photographs of Veterans connected to Waukazoo, who are still with us today or who have passed, in the hallway outside the reception space for all our special guests, students, and staff to see.
Next week, we are welcoming Hope College's dance troupe StrikeTime for a performance of the children's book Dreamers by Yuyi Morales. Some of our Waukazoo students had the opportunity to attend an author talk by Yuyi herself this week! We are thrilled to be welcoming this group from our local area to share Yuyi Morales' story with our students.
Panther Pathways has begun and we have many 4th and 5th grade girls starting basketball games next week! We hope all our players enjoy learning the game of basketball and working together on a team. Go Waukazoo!
A reminder that we also have a half day on Wednesday, November 20 for teacher professional development. This time is important for our teachers to learn and grow together!
Thank you and Go WO!
