School Counseling Newsletter
December 2021
From all of us at Edgewood High School
To schedule an appointment, please click on the button below. Your counselor will see you as soon as she is available.
1) Get access to your grades online - if you need help, please see Mrs. Rapose in the counseling office.
2) Know what your missing assignments are.
3) Make a game plan. If you have a lot of missing assignments - DON'T GIVE UP! Pick an additional one or two assignments per subject to make up at time. Then turn them in. Don't wait to turn in until all are done.
4) Study for the quizzes/tests. Make up note cards, study with friends, review material every night, etc.
5) Talk with your teacher. The more they know what is going on the more they can help.
Scheduling for the 21- 22 School Year
-Are you on track for graduation? If you have not failed any courses, then you most likely are on track.
-Do you have an idea of what you want to do after high school? If so, focus on classes that will help you with that.
-Do you have your PE credit or PE waiver completed? If not, talk with your counselor if you are in grades 10 and 11.
-Are you thinking about College Credit Plus (CCP)? If so, attend the informational meeting at January 27th at 5:30 pm.
A great resource for this is Naviance. Students are able to view courses that we offer, take career assessment surveys, and search for colleges. If you do not know your Naviance information, please contact your counselor about getting it.
Any other questions or concerns, please contact your school counselor through email or by signing up to speak with her.

10th grade visitations
Our 10th grade students visited A-Tech on Nov. 18th to view perspective programs or for career exploration.
If a student knows that they want to apply to A-Tech, you can apply at https://atech.enrolltrack.com/StudentPortal/#. Programs can fill up quickly so apply sooner rather than later, because you can change your mind up to the start of next school year. We would rather you have the spot for the program and then decide you don't want it, than you want a program and can't get it.
If you would like more information, you can visit A-Tech's website at https://www.atech.edu/ and click on Menu, then high school, then click on Career Technical Programs to view the different programs. There are videos available about the different programs.
If you did not get a chance to visit, or did not visit the program you would like to see, we are working on make-up visits and share that information once we receive it.
Make up A-Tech visit and Career Technical Exploration visit
9th graders - Are you interested in the Career Technical Exploration program at A-Tech. This is specifically for students for their 10th grade year. If you attend this program, you will have the best chance of getting into a program for your 11th and 12th grade year. The visit for this is also on Friday, January 21st. Once we receive more information, it will be e-mailed to your Buckeye e-mail.
