Ms. Sultzbach's Humanities
Over the past two weeks students have participated in two different room transformations. For Starbooks, students had the chance to preview several book options for our upcoming novel study. For Book Madness, students completed various March Madness activities including creating brackets with novels and picture books we’ve explored this year!
City of Ember
Ms. Spindler’s 7th grade ELA class is wrapping up the book, The City of Ember. Student’s learned about dystopian societies and had the opportunity to create their own city.
Symbols of freedom
Mr. Harrison’s 8th Grade ELA Honors class is finishing up their unit on “Freedom”. As an entrance activity, pairs of students were asked to use Play Dough to create a symbol of freedom. Examples included caged birds, peace signs, and recreations of The Liberty Bell.
Ancient Egypt
As we approach spring break, Ms. Lundberg’s Humanities classes are learning about ancient Egypt! Students have created their own sarcophagus that display their values and where they feel the safest. This activity allowed students to understand the emphasis the ancient Egyptians had on the afterlife while letting them express themselves in a fun and unique way.
Primary documents
Students in Miss Shuppe’s ELA classes have been working in conjunction with Ms. Bower's Social Studies classes to learn how to read and annotate primary documents.
Math night
Thanks again to all the students and their families who came out for Math night!
